Xiaomi’s Redmi Note Will Expand Beyond China, Will Be Priced Starting At $129

Xiaomis Redmi Note Will Expand Beyond China, Will Be Priced Starting At $129A few days ago, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi announced its new handset, the Redmi Note. For the most part Xiaomi operates either within China or limits its market to the Asian region, but you will be pleased to learn that for the Redmi Note, the Chinese company plans on expanding beyond China.

However the initial markets will be Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, but we expect that additional countries will be announced at a later date. Unsurprisingly the company has also chosen to launch the Redmi Note in China first where it will see a release on the 26th of March and where it will be priced at upwards of $129, making it a pretty damn affordable handset. South Korean Schools Trialling Software To Restrict Phone Use During Class

South Korean Schools Trialling Software To Restrict Phone Use During ClassBack in the day when mobile phones weren’t so readily available, teachers did not have to worry about kids in class being distracted by mobile phones. Then again there were other distractions, such as Gameboy, Game Gear, trading card games like Magic: The Gathering, and so on.

However nowadays with kids pretty much having a phone of their own, these distractions can be quite annoying and disruptive, which is why over in South Korea, officials are trialing an app called iSmartKeeper which basically manages a phone’s capabilities and limits what it can and cannot do. LG G Pro 2 Priced Cheaper Than Galaxy S5 In Taiwan

LG G Pro 2 Priced Cheaper Than Galaxy S5 In TaiwanAs far as Android handsets are concerned, Samsung and LG are rivals. Both companies hail from South Korea and both are battling it out for smartphone dominance with the Android platform. However it’s safe to say that Samsung is probably leading at the moment, but interesting enough it looks like LG could be trying to tempt potential Samsung customers over with lower prices.

Earlier at MWC 2014 last month, both LG and Samsung unveiled their flagship devices. With LG it was the LG G Pro 2, while Samsung had the Galaxy S5. Both phones are almost identical save for the screen size, with the G Pro 2 packing a 5.9-inch Full HD display while the Galaxy S5 featured a 5.1-inch Full HD display, and the choice of chipset where LG went with the Snapdragon 800 versus the Galaxy S5’s Snapdragon 801. Windows Phone 8.1 Spotted on Microsoft’s Website

Windows Phone 8.1 Spotted on Microsofts WebsiteSo it is more or less common knowledge by now that Microsoft will be releasing Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows Phone users in the near future. When exactly will this update be rolled out remains to be seen, but in the meantime it has been suggested that perhaps we might be getting pretty close to the release.

This is according to a recent sighting on Microsoft’s Windows Phone website where as you can see in the image above, Microsoft has made an official reference to Windows Phone 8.1, although this by no means confirms when the update will be released, but we reckon if Microsoft is already putting it on their website, they should be pretty close. Samsung Design Site Teaser Video

I know that when it comes to design, many people would place Apple right there at the very top, but I am quite sure that the other players in the market have also managed to play catch up over the years. Take South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung for example. When they first came up with mobile phones, Nokia ruled the roost with their designs, and Samsung was, well, Samsung. Using cheap looking plastic that has been cobbled together, their first truly breakthrough handset was the Samsung A200 in my opinion, sporting a blue glow that was otherworldly. Samsung has since then become a tour de force in the world of phones, and their upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 looks set to make plenty of waves to boot.
