Facebooks Persistent Notification Bar On Android TestedFacebook, being a social network, has the intention of making sure its product remains as close to users as much as possible, and some of these attempts include Chat Heads on Android that will leave a hovering friend icon on your screen whenever you begin to message. Facebook Home is another attempt which did not do too well, however, since it was perceived to be an extremely invasive full launcher replacement. It looks like Facebook is now looking at the notification bar on Android, relishing in its next target.

    Analyst Doesnt Think 8GB iPhone 5c And Relaunched iPad 4 Will Have Much Impact On Apples March/June QuartersA couple of days ago after some rumors, Apple really did launch the 8GB iPhone 5c and reintroduced the iPad 4 which would be officially replacing the iPad 2 as the lower-cost iPad model. We’re sure many of you guys are wondering if by introducing these products, would it be able to generate sufficient interest to impact Apple’s profit margins?

    Well we can only assume that that’s what Apple had in mind, but one analyst by the name of Gene Munster appears to be a little skeptical about Apple’s efforts. Munster admits that these “new” products will have a slight positive benefit for Apple over the next two quarters, but calls it “ultimately irrelevant” for the company’s June quarter. (more…)

    Imagination Technologies Unveils New PowerVR GPUUnlike most smartphones, Apple uses a chipset of their own make which has debuted in the company’s iOS devices, versus other manufacturers who typically goes with Qualcomm’s offerings.

    However with a chipset of their own making, Apple has more control about what goes in it, such as its GPU where Apple has typically favored Imagination Technologies’ PowerVR.     iOS 7.1 is the first major update that Apple has rolled out for iOS 7 ever since the firmware was released late last year. It brought several visual enhancements, improvements and fixes. While it seems to have made things better for users, people who used or rather abused the Personal Hotspot feature on iOS 7 have been seriously inconvenienced by the update. iOS 7.1 takes away the ability to manually edit tethering settings for unauthorized carriers, users will no longer be able to create a Personal Hotspot if their carrier doesn’t support it.

    It disappeared almost as quickly as it became a global sensation. A couple of months back a retro styled game was all the rage. Called Flappy Bird, the objective of this game was quite simple. Clear obstacles made out of pipes that the bird encounters, and the bird is only controlled by simple tapping of the display. This turned out to be a lot more frustrating than it sounds, some people may even have smashed their phones in frustration. Developer Dong Nguyen then removed the game. He has confirmed today though that Flappy Bird for iOS will definitely make its return.

    By store count, Burger King is the second largest burger chain in the U.S. Its on a mission to attract more younger diners, the sort of customers that are often referred to as “millennials.” Therefore a Burger King app is going to be launched next month. Its primary feature will be to facilitate mobile payments at its U.S. stores. The program will kick off next month at select locations, a nationwide rollout is expected to be completed a few months after that.

    The second quarter of 2014 isn’t that far off, which means that the OnePlus One’s days in hiding are numbered. OnePlus, a company founded by ex-Oppo executives, is due to release its first smartphone in Q2, 2014. So far it hasn’t shown us the actual device, but over the past few weeks it has been offering bread crumbs of information. Today’s bit was design related, and while it still didn’t show off the design, OnePlus confirmed that it is going to offer StyleSwap Covers for its first smartphone.

    HTC had admitted that it needs to do a better job at marketing and advertising to improve its sales. The company launched a very costly campaign last year featuring Robert Downey Jr. That campaign was entirely focused upon change, but it didn’t quite bring the results that the company would have hoped for. So now its turning towards another Marvel Avenger. HTC has started building up hype as its 2013 flagship is going to the big screen. The HTC One is going to make an appearance in the upcoming Marvel flick, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

    Earlier this month Huawei announced its plans to launch a dual boot Windows Phone and Android device. The idea behind this device to give users more flexibility and choice on a single gadget, eliminating the need to carry to separate devices for each platform. Less than two weeks after this statement was made by Huawei CMO Shao Yang, the company said in a statement today that it has no plans of launching a dual-OS smartphone “in the near future.”
