LG Hom-Bot Square Vacuums To Hit CES 2013 Showfloor

hombot square LG Hom Bot Square Vacuums To Hit CES 2013 Showfloor[CES 2013] Sure, we will definitely take a closer look at all of the wonderful devices that will be released at CES later next week, but let us not forget that home essentials such as vacuum cleaners, too, will be on parade there. In fact, LG will showcase their latest square robotic vacuum cleaner under the Hom-Bot Square range, and will do so in an entertaining manner by demonstrating its incredible maneuverability with a well-choreographed dance routine at select intervals over the four day technological showcase.

The LG Hom-Bot Square will deliver a significant upgrade in cleaning performance, where this is made possible thanks to LG’s recently designed Corner Master. Some of the features include improved sensors and longer brushes, while ultrasonic and infrared sensors let it detect the right obstacles to avoid, with Dual Eye 2.0 cameras that are able to scan and map rooms accurately even in the dark. Looks like the next generation of vacuum cleaners will be square but smart, and we hope to get more details like pricing and availability soon. [Press Release]

HTC M7 flagship handset tipped for CES 2013

We’ve already heard a handful of rumors about HTC‘s upcoming flagship device, the M7, and today we’re hearing more buzz that the device will make an appearance at CES 2013 next week. Previously, we heard that the upcoming phone was going to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, so we’re definitely not complaining about the opportunity to meet the new device sooner.

htc-580x435

The rumor comes from XDA member Football, who revealed some of the details on Twitter, and has been a reliable source for past HTC rumors as well. Aside from being announced at CES 2013, Football suggests that the M7 “might have screen buttons instead of hardware touch buttons,” which would definitely see HTC going in a different direction than past devices.

Other than that, though, the M7 should be quite the robust machine. We’re looking at a 4.7-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, a 13MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, Beats Audio, and a 2,300mAh battery.

We’re not sure if “M7″ will be the phone’s actual name or not, but we’re guessing it’s simply just a codename for the time being, since “M7″ doesn’t really sound like the name of an HTC device. Either way, we’ll keep our eyes peeled at CES next week and see if HTC has anything special up their sleeves during the event.

LG unveils new Cinema 3D Smart TV range

CES 2013 is the platform where LG will state their intention in the TV arena, where that is when they unveil their new range of Cinema 3D Smart TVs. It is said that the 2013 range will deliver easier content access alongside sharing capability, and when coupled with an updated Magic Remote, one ought to be able to experience a simplified, intuitive user experience. It does not matter on the kind of budget that you have (or don’t), LG should have a little bit of something for everyone. Some of the models that we do know which will break the bank and will be paraded there include LG’s 84-inch Ultra HD and 55-inch OLED TVs, where the latter is said to cost approximately $10,000 a pop after conversion from the listed price in South Korea.

There is a new and improved SmartShare feature that allows users to mirror or transfer content from smart devices to LG Smart TVs using a host of connectivity options, where among them include WiDi and Miracast. I guess there is no excuse now not to hook up something to your TV, no? The 2013 range will also enhance inter-device sharing further by implementing Tag On, where this feature is said to be able to connect a couple of devices immediately for speedy media sharing. In order to make use of Tag On, all you need to do is hold a smartphone or other NFC-enabled device against the NFC sticker on a Cinema 3D Smart TV, and voila! Magic happens, or so that is what people from two centuries ago would think.

Not only that, the 2013 range will also support LG Cloud, where LG Cloud enables folks to remotely stream high-quality content from just about anywhere they are at that point in time. Are you in the market for one of LG’s new Cinema 3D Smart TVs when they arrive? If you are, then it’d be best to work out your budget ASAP as CES 2013 is happening just next week.

Intel’s Rumored Set-Top Box And TV Subscription Service Might Not Make CES 2013

intel tv 640x359 Intels Rumored Set Top Box And TV Subscription Service Might Not Make CES 2013A couple of days ago we reported on a rumor that Intel could be set to debut a set-top box and a TV subscription service of their own come CES 2013. Unfortunately according to a new report by the Wall Street Journal, it looks like if that was one of the things you were looking forward to seeing at CES 2013, you could be disappointed. The publication has reported that Intel would be delaying the debut of their product because they are having a hard time trying to convince companies to license out individual channels. Given that Intel’s experience lies more in the backend side of things rather than creating consumer friendly devices, we can’t say that we’re surprised.

The report also quotes one cable operator who claims that unlike licensing a bundle of channels, licensing individual channels would be a lot more expensive and that his company and Intel were far from reaching an agreement. However the report also states that Intel has already managed to land one content deal but their sources declined to mention as to who that partner is. Either way since the previous report was merely a rumor, we guess it’s hard to be disappointed, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled nonetheless.
