Canon Includes Apple AirPrint Compatibility For New PIXMA Wireless Office All-In-One Printers

22 Canon logo Canon Includes Apple AirPrint Compatibility For New PIXMA Wireless Office All In One Printers[CES 2013] Canon has decided to take the opportunity at CES to announce that they will be including Apple AirPrint compatibility for their spanking new collection of Pixma wireless office all-in-one printers. This is a step in the right direction, especially for those who are still dreaming about living up a wireless lifestyle which has been nigh impossible, as the power of wireless power being transferred from one place to another device in an accurate manner has yet to be solved. In fact, going paperless would be far more realistic in the long run.

Well, at least we are getting somewhere with this wireless effort, where compatible models that will feature Apple AirPrint compatibility will include the Canon PIXMA MX922, PIXMA MX522 and PIXMA MX452 Wireless Office All-In-One Printers. Just what does AirPrint do? For starters, users are able to wirelessly print photos, email, web pages and documents without having to go through the hassle of installing device drivers. AirPrint is compatible with all iPad models, the iPhone (3GS and later), and iPod touch devices (3rd generation and later), with a minimum operating system requirement of iOS 4.2 (or later). ZTE Grand S hands-on (video)

ZTE Grand S handson

ZTE didn’t wait for its official press event to take the official wraps off its latest flagship release, the Grand S: the company is previewing it in its booth. And in a rare match of marketing garble and specs, this grandiose moniker actually befits the hardware to which it’s attached. For starters, the handset’s decked out with a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 13MP rear-facing camera and 2MP front-facing cam, 2GB RAM and Android Jelly Bean 4.1 pre-installed. But, its signature claim to mobile fame is its 6.9mm thickness — a slim silhouette the company’s billing as a “world’s first.” If you find that last bit hard to swallow, take note, that self-appointed distinction refers to its place in the 1080p smartphone space. We had a chance to spend some quality time with the device, so follow along after the break for our initial impressions, and check out some photos of the new phone below.

Next-gen In-Car Audio System Concept Revealed By B&O, Audi And Frauhofer IIS

BANG OLUFSEN audi 3D car Next gen In Car Audio System Concept Revealed By B&O, Audi And Frauhofer IIS
[CES 2013] Bang & Olufsen (B&O) is a company known for putting out high-end audio equipment, but whether you regard them as being truly worth their price or as a hype, you cannot deny that the company has created some pretty futuristic looking audio equipment and in their latest collaborative efforts, B&O has joined up with Audi and Frauhofer IIS to create a concept car (the Audi Q7) where the audio experience of the car will be the main highlight, rather than the vehicle’s capabilities itself.

While B&O has seen itself integrated into vehicles in the past, the highlight of this concept car would be the introduction of what they believe will be the next-generation of in-car audio systems where the sound stage within the car is no longer limited to the size of the cabin, but can be either extended to sound very “big”, or to sound like a controlled environment such as a recording studio.

Bang & Olufsen built-in sound system – BeoLab 15, BeoLab 16

B O Beolab 15 16 640 Bang & Olufsen built in sound system BeoLab 15, BeoLab 16[CES 2013] When it comes to consumer electronics craftsmanship, Bang & Olufsen is synonymous with haute couture, in the sense that the Danish company  makes a point to design devices that look like pieces of art. That is why the first time I looked at the Beolab 15 / Beolab 16 built-in sound system in the product picture provided by the manufacturer, I had to ask confirmation of which objects were part of it (see above, the 3 circles in the photo).

The new sound system is comprised of a pair of two-way active speakers (BeoLab 15), an active subwoofer (BeoLab 16) and a rack-ready amplifier (Amplifier 1), all designed for in-wall or in-ceiling placement.
Beolab 15 features a new tilt function that allows the listeners to place middle tones where they want them to be. When the device is turned on, it tilts out to pre-sets angles and  it tilts back as soon as it is turned off.

pantone bookcase iPhone 5 Pantone Universe Bookcase [CES 2013] Case Scenario has taken the opportunity of CES 2013 to announced a design oriented mobile accessory known as the iPhone 5 Pantone Universe Bookcase. Needless to say, the name of this particular accessory gives the game away, catering to iPhone 5 owners who want something different and yet iconic and relevant to the times. Panasonic HX-WA03 Camcorder Toughs It Out

panasonic hx wa03 Panasonic HX WA03 Camcorder Toughs It Out[CES 2013] When it comes to camcorders, you know that these are extremely sensitive equipment, and most consumer electronics products are loathe to come into contact with water. However, the rugged Panasonic HX-WA03 camcorder begs to differ, delivering Full HD video recording capability even when it is raining or if you are going whitewater rafting, all made possible thanks to its waterproof design.

It is said that the Panasonic HX-WA03 is waterproof down to 16 feet, dustproof, and heck, why not go all the way and make sure it is also able to withstand bitter cold during the winter season by being freeze proof down to 14°F? Thanks to its robust design, it is possible to shoot video or photos in even harsher environments. Of course, being waterproof does not mean indefinitely, it will be able to sleep with the fishes for up to an hour at most, but that is still 60 minutes longer than your vanilla camcorder. Other features include the ability to capture 16-megapixel stills, creative control for versatile digital expression, an intelligent 18x zoom with New Active Digital Image Stabilizer, and being Eye-Fi Compatible.

Panasonic Ultra HD Windows 8 Tablet

panasonic4ktablet Panasonic Ultra HD Windows 8 Tablet[CES 2013] Are you still bowled over by the many different technological wonders discovered at CES 2013? Well, today is only the first day of the show (the previous two days’ worth of coverage had to do with the press getting a sneak preview of stuff to come), and you know that you are in for a wild ride. Panasonic has just showed off an unprecedented device in the tablet market – a 20-inch tablet that runs on Windows 8, and best of all is, your eyes will definitely pop out at the mention of “4k resolution.”

So far, eyewitnesses have claimed that the kind of images that this Panasonic tablet (which boasts of an IPS Alpha LCD panel to get the job done) resembles photos even in real life, not to mention fantastic viewing angles, while being accompanied by a stylus and of course, since it is powered by Windows 8, there is no harm in throwing in touchscreen functionality to boot. No further details on this have been released, but we are drooling at the prospect of playing with 4k resolution on a tablet in the future should it be mass produced.
