Fujifilm S8200 and S8300 Mid-Range Cameras

fujifilm S8200 White Front Left Fujifilm S8200 and S8300 Mid Range Cameras[CES 2013] The Fujifilm S8200 and S8300 are digital cameras that are priced to hit a mid-range price point of $299.95 and $309.95 which makes them affordable for users who are looking for a good picture quality, including in low-light, a long-zoom and a good feature-set. Of course, those cameras won’t be a champion in any of those categories, but “performance for the dollar” is the name of the game here.

And on paper, things look rather good. With an aperture of f2.9-f6.5, those cameras should provide very decent low-light photography (at minimum zoom), and if you take into account that the Fujifilm S-Series uses a backside illuminated sensor (BSI), that helps low-light photography further. Bem Speaker Trio Announced

bem speakertrio Bem Speaker Trio Announced[CES 2013] Bem has just announced their Speaker Trio – although I would like to venture and take a guess that this naming convention was inspired by Thor’s the Warriors Three. Well, just what kind of audio firepower can we expect to find from the Speaker Trio? For starters, we are looking at three speakers (obviously, hence the name) that are touted to deliver exceptional, crystal clear sound to multiple rooms without the hassle of wires.

Ah, wires, even in the year 2013, we still cannot escape the fact that it is nigh impossible to live a true, blue, wireless lifestyle. Not until someone comes up with a method to send electricity surging throughout the home or office wirelessly, knowing just which device to target and how much juice it needs. Well, the Speaker Trio will boast a range of up to 120 feet, and it can be controlled by an iPhone, smartphone or other Bluetooth device. Choose from black or white shades at $299.99 a pop.

Image

While we’re accustomed to the buzzphrase “internet of things“, AT&T and Qualcomm want to talk about the “internet of everything.” In short, it’s pairing up to offer a development platform that uses the latter’s Gobi 3G modems and the former’s wireless internet which will be used to test new applications. The duo are expecting developers to get their hands on the kit in the second quarter of the year, which probably means we’ll be bombarded with intelligent refrigerators and cars at next year’s CES.

ASUS Nexus 7 dock hands-on

ASUS Nexus 7 dock handson

Along with the Qube and the VivoTab Smart at CES, ASUS also quietly showed off its dock for the Nexus 7 at its remote suite outside CES. Judging by the tablet’s position in the above photo, you can tell that the fairly weighty dock makes use of the tablet’s pin connectors towards the bottom of its left side. Swing to the back and you’ll see a micro-USB port plus an audio-out socket. That’s actually pretty much it for the dock, and there’s no price or availability just yet for the US so we’ll keep our eyes open for more detail.
