LG Ultra HD TV Going For $20,000

lg ultrahd smart tv 1 LG Ultra HD TV Going For $20,000[CES 2013] Here we are at the CES Unveiled showfloor, and apart from jostling with numerous other journalists for some grub, there are also photo opportunities with beautiful models that cannot be missed. One of CES Unveiled’s undoubted starlets would be the LG 84LM9600, in other words, an 84-inch behemoth of a Smart TV that does 3D visuals as well, where it boasts of Ultra HD, otherwise known as “4K” resolution with more than 8 million pixels in tow (which would be four times the resolution of the Full HD TV in your living room that you are extremely proud of owning). This bad boy even comes with LG’s Resolution Upscaler Plus that will up-scale any content to near 4K resolution, which is a natural progression of Blu-ray players in the past that upscaled regular DVDs to pseudo-Full HD resolution.

Other features include Cinema 3D and Smart TV capabilities, in addition to a 2.2-channel sound system that delivers a lavish audio experience. Above the din over at CES Unveiled, it is difficult to ascertain that particular claim, so you will have to fork out $19,999 to purchase one and find out for yourself. Enjoy the photo gallery after the break.

Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 GPS Flight recorder hands-on

Parrot is showing off some new features of their newer AR.Drone 2.0 remote-controlled quadricopter here at CES, and one of the new products they have on tap is a GPS “flight recorder” that video-records all your flights, and the accompanying iPad app lets you make edits to the video, like color adjustments and stability improvements.

image0003

It’s a pretty nifty little gadget, and it plugs into the AR.Drone 2.0 copter at the top via USB, and is strapped in with a simple velcro strap. It has 4GB of storage, which doesn’t seem like a lot at all, and we’re thinking that the company could’ve definitely stuffed in more silicon to boost up the storage limit.

image0001

In any case, there are some cool features that users can take advantage of, including Director Mode, which lets users “program pre-registered and automatic movements”, like traveling, pan movements, and crane. This is to ensure that users shoot exactly the video they want, and allows for full control, just like a movie director.

The GPS dongle also comes with an extra battery, which allows for 18 minutes of extra flight time. The iPad app, in particular, offers stabilization features and post-processing capabilities to allow complete editing control and provide your friends and family with the best possible viewing from the sky.

A Teeny Tiny Action Cam with a Half Decent Sensor: Must Be for Porn?

Here’s the Ego Mini, the tiniest Wi-Fi enabled action cam around. It’s 1.62 x 0.86 x 2.05 inches little, and Liquid Image says it’s designed to be less about “fun” and more about “function.” Translation: This might be when action cams turn the corner off of Action Replay Avenue and onto Pervy Perv Sex Video Boulevard. Lenovo Yoga 11S At CES 2013

lenovo yoga 11s 1 Lenovo Yoga 11S At CES 2013[CES 2013] So the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 has just gotten a revamp in time for CES 2013, and here we are at the CES Unveiled showfloor with the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11S, where it will carry Windows 8 as the operating system of choice this time around. One of the main advantages of the IdeaPad Yoga 11S would be to bring it closer to the iPad as well as other notable Android-powered tablets in the market when its screen is folded all the way to transform it into a tablet mode.

Definitely one of the more creative methods of sharing your video or presentations amongst friends or colleagues, and while this is not the definitive tablet experience as we spent some time with it, it does a passable impersonation. At least those long haul flights need not be that boring any more, and you also have more space to use it even when flying cattle, er, economy class. We had the orange colored model to play with, and you can pick up this bad boy sometime later this June from $799 onwards, where it will run on an Intel Core i5 low-voltage processor with a display resolution of 1,600 x 900 pixels.

Uh, Here’s a Stylus That Plays Music, Takes Bluetooth Calls, and Vibrates

From the brainspace of “Oh Hell Why the Hell Not?”, here’s Dexim’s Music Talking Stylus. It’s a Bluetooth-enabled stylus that doubles as a music controller, and triples as a phone receiver, and sorta-quadruples as a headphone jack. And, uh, it vibrates. But as goofy as it sounds, it actually seems like it would be useful, in its own very strange way. More »
