Everyone hates their carrier, right? That’s just a thing. They’re either so huge that you get ripped off and can’t get any customer service, or they’re so small that their service coverage is weird and their handset options are lousy. But it increasingly seems like there are viable alternative options. Like Republic Wireless‘s $20-a-month unlimited plan. It’s actually solid and now the company is offering the Moto X. What Type Of Watch Do You Wear?

There’s been a lot of talk about smart watches lately, but most of us aren’t there yet. I wear the same analog watch every day. It tells time and looks kinda nice. I feel naked if I leave the house without it. Some people are all about digital options, either because they find them easier to read or because they want easily accessible stopwatch/calculator/whatever functions. But watches aren’t for everyone, and it’s easy not to wear one when we all carry phones everywhere. The thing I like about wearing a watch is the ability to easily set it five minutes fast. No matter how many years I run my watch fast, it always gives me a kick in the pants to get moving when I’m going to be late. Maybe I’m gullible, but whatever works, right? The Toronto Sun has the story of a Canadian family so fed up with modern technology that they’ve reverted back to 1986. And that goes for everything — they’ve ditched their smartphones and closed their social media accounts. They’re listening to audio cassettes, using fax machines, and even wearing their hair in mullets! In a sense, they’re a bit like an Amish family if the Amish thought that every piece of tech developed after 1986 (rather than the 19th century) was the distraction that would keep them from being a tightly knit family unit.
