Christmas has long been known for one of the great gateways to holiday romance — the sprig of mistletoe. An aerial drone bearing the festive fungus recently made an appearance over the crowds at Union Square in San Francisco. Couples young and old delighted in the impromptu appearance and began locking lips when it hovered their way. It was a totally 21st century take an old holiday tradition.
They’re perfectly conical, with long draping boughs and a citrusy fragrance: Your search for the perfect Christmas tree ends here. Unfortunately, you can’t chop down any of the 132 historically protected cedars that line a street outside of Los Angeles called Christmas Tree Lane.

Hanging ornaments is a silly tradition. We kill a tree, wrap it in lights, then fishhook it with glass balls. But every ornament is more than its glitter and paint. It’s a memory.

This video by PistolShrimps recasts Batman into scenes of classic Christmas movies. I admit I don’t recognize all of the movies in the clip, though I do see It’s A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol and A Christmas Story in there, so those are the big ones.
Though that scene doesn’t feature Batman, rather it’s Bane being taunted by Scut Farkas before beating the stuffing out of him. I also recognized some scenes from one of those Santa Clause movies.
It’s pretty funny to see Batman in these roles. My favorite is when the little girl signs her name in sign language. You’ll have to watch to see what Batman thinks she means.

I love a good wreath during the holidays. But forget all of your pine cones and glittery ornaments. A wreath should be geeky and show everything that you love on it. Well, the folks over at Our Nerd Home have created just such a wreath. And it is an instant Christmas classic as far as I’m concerned.
They combined a ton of different and equally awesome geeky things on their bright wreath, with icons representing Robocop, LEGO, the TARDIS, Batman, Fallout, Q*Bert, Heisenberg and more. Now that’s a wreath.
It looks more difficult to make than it is. They just drew the shapes onto foam board, cut them with an X-acto knife, and used markers and paint to add the bright colors. It looks very dimensional. You can make one yourself and put all of your favorite geeky things on it.
Ok, it’s not as classic as this wreath, but it’s still pretty awesome.

Traditionally, yes, eggnog included raw eggs. However, some countries today, such as the United States, severely restrict the use of raw egg in products, due to health concerns; thus, most commercial eggnog does not include raw eggs. (The FDA actually limits the egg yolk solids in eggnog to less than 1%.) You can, however, buy pasteurized eggs first before making your own eggnog (or partially cook the raw egg in milk to make a custard), but eggnog connoisseurs tend to frown upon this as it supposedly alters the flavor and consistency of the final product.
