Hanging Cocoon helps you relax
Posted in: Today's ChiliAfter a particularly hard day at work, all that you want to do is sit down, put your legs up, and relax. After all, “getting away from it all” is a must-do for you when you clock out at the office, and there are different ways employed by various people when it comes to de-stressing, and here is the $399.95 Hanging Cocoon that you might want to consider, instead of a monthly membership at the local gym.
The Hanging Cocoon is actually a glorified hammock, although it does have its fair share of advantages, which is why it was so named (and of course, priced). The Hanging Cocoon will cocoon (hence its name) its user within a private suspended sanctuary, making it the ideal spot to read, unwind, or perform a personal reflection session. It has been inspired by the hanging, tapering nests of weaver birds, boasting of a semi-enclosed design that makes it equally private for both adults and children alike. Capable of supporting up to 440 lbs. when hung, the eight-section aluminum ring allows you to assemble in minutes.

Every once in a while, I feel like being alone and that’s one of the times I feel extremely lucky and fortunate that we have a spare room in the house. Not that I’m a loner or anything, but I just like being able to get away from everyone and everything sometimes.
If I didn’t have a spare room to go to, then I’m sure something like the plastic-shelled Cocoon 1 would be totally up my alley. Although the price, not so much.
The Cocoon 1 is a piece of furniture that you can actually live in. It’s like the Cocoon Tent we saw earlier, only it’s made with a tough and clear material–and, well, it’s not a tent.
Designed by Swiss design group Micasa Lab, the Cocoon is cushy and roomy enough to let people sleep, eat, relax, and do whatever they want by their lonesome while they’re in it. The inside of the Cocoon is modular, so it can be configured as a living, working or even a cooking space. You can even get a Wi-Fi module for surfing the web inside of it.
The Cocoon 1 seems like a concept, but it’s actually an actual product that will be arriving sometime in Fall of 2013.
The only downside? The base model is priced at $2,990(USD), and goes up from there.

Denon hasn’t released all that many speaker docks over the years, but their latest offering looks quite good. The Cocoon wireless speaker has an interesting shape and is packed with tech to make you consider this as a good option.
The Cocoon comes in two varieties, one for your home, and a smaller portable version with rechargeable batteries that will last 5 hours. DLNA and AirPlay Wi-Fi streaming takes care of all mobile devices on your home network and you can hook it up with the press of a single button.
The docking mechanism looks swanky and the connector retracts when iOS devices aren’t docked. Unfortunately, it’s only got a 30-pin dock connector, so iPhone 5 users will have to connect wirelessly and cannot take advantage of the charging capabilities.
A white-on-black OLED display on the face of the docking tray can display track information, and also functions as a clock. In terms of sound, it has two-way speakers, double-layer woofers, two bass ports, and four 25-watt amplifiers coupled to a nine-band digital equalizer.
The dock also includes a wireless remote control, which tucks neatly into the back of the dock when not in use. The Denon Cocoon Home sells for $599.99 and Cocoon Portable for $499.99, and they’re both available for order over at Amazon now, though they are currently out of stock.
