Coffee Machine That Roasts, Grinds And Brews Your Cuppa

Coffee Machine That Roasts, Grinds And Brews Your CuppaDon’t you just love a convergence device that is capable of doing just about everything that you want to, right from the beginning all the way to the very end? Take the smartphone for example – mobile phones in the past could only make and receive calls, before additional functionality was added such as text messaging, audio and video file playback, camera capability, video recording, surfing the Internet, the works! A coffee machine, however, has not seen such quantum leaps in advances, but Bonaverde Coffee Changers intends to change all of that with their spanking new Kickstarter project. This campaign is moving along nicely towards its goal, but what it does can be considered to be different from the regular coffee machines out there for the layperson. This one will be slightly larger than a standard grind and brew unit, but it has the ability to transform green beans into dark roast in a matter of minutes.

There is a stainless steel rotating roaster within which is capable of churning out a batch of beans each time, taking a few minutes to roast. After you let it cool down, you will then be able to grind those beans and basically drink that perfect cuppa of dream brew. Hopefully it will be able to ship out by the time October 2014 rolls around, where the minimum amount of contribution to be eligible for it would stand at $300 at the moment.

KRUPS Barista EA9000 Fully Automated Cappuccino Machine

KRUPS Barista EA9000 Fully Automated Cappuccino MachineIt’s the morning on the west coast, and this announcement came right on time. None of us here at Ubergizmo like to grind the coffee, which can be hazardous for geeky fingers controlled by a 65% operational brain in the (late) morning. Of course, the high-tech solution to that may be a one-touch coffee machine such as this KRUPS Barista EA9000 that comes with a large touch screen color display. It can handle Black (ristretto, espresso, or coffee) or Specialty, milk-based (cappuccinos, café lattes, macchiato) coffee drinks and up to 8 users can save their personal preferences (for quantity, strength, and temperature).

Some of us are coffee enthusiast, and although we like the high-tech aspect of this particular machine, we would also warn that when it comes to reliability, simpler is better. Without having tested this in the field, it’s hard to tell, but with a price tag of $2499.99, reading a few reviews may be worth your time.

The personalization is probably what sets it apart from regular models. Reliability apart, we also advice looking at how often one has to fill the water tank. That’s particularly valid if the machine is not place near a water source. Such devices rinse often, so a lot of the water is used for cleaning as well. What do you think? Would you get a Macbook Pro with Retina Display, a 65″ TV or… a coffee machine?

Kenco Millicano coffee vending machine shouts orders at passers-by

If you are a coffee lover, you know that your day will not start off on the right side of the proverbial bed if you have yet to enjoy your favorite cuppa. Those who are willing to go further for a free cup of coffee can always check out this particular vending machine that is placed in Soho Square, London, by U.K. coffee company Kenco Millicano, where it shouts out orders at passers-by, asking them to act all weird and placing them in potentially embarrassing situations. Some were ordered to scream, others to hug the machine, and even dance around in a silly manner, before the Kenco Millicano vending machine actually sends forth its hot cup of coffee.

This is the creation of ad agency Leo Burnett, and it does offer a rather humorous insight into how ordinary folks react to a machine that is extremely demanding. Majority of the folks do seem to enjoy and embrace the experience as you can see from the video above. Now, this machine is not equipped with a super smart processor inside, but rather, has a voice actor to speak through the machine for that human touch. Definitely not the weirdest vending machine we have seen to date, though.
