LED lighting is great. The right bulb
This mesmerizing, morphing video experiment by József Fejes is more than a beautiful art project. t’s a visual boundary-pusher, dedicating one pixel to every color your computer is capable of displaying. And it’s beautiful.
Your eyes can paint colors onto blank objects. I swear! Just stare at the red dot in the optical illusion above for 10 seconds and you’ll see the black and white cityscape be transformed into a brand new colorful world. Each building will have its own nuanced color. Magic!
There is no CG in this video and yet it messes with reality so much that it sure seems like it’s complete make believe. Instead, Cy Kuckenbaker simply removed and reorganized cars of the same color to make it seem as if they were driving together in a group. It’s a hypnotizing effect to see cars of the same color driving as one fleet.
One is dark, one is light. One is gray, one is white. These are obviously two different blocks with two different colors right? Wrong. The two blocks are the same color. Seriously, they’re the same shade of gray. Just place your finger across the seam (where the blocks meet in the middle) to reveal the illusion. Just crazy.
This Is the Official Color of 2014
Posted in: Today's ChiliPantone, the self-declared official body in control of the entire visible spectrum, has announced the color of the year for 2014. You’re looking at it.
Graphic designer Paula Rupolo came up with the clever idea to see just how far famous brands and logos have penetrated our brains: she swapped the colors of brands with their closest competitor. The results are so weird: coke is blue, Pepsi is red, Google is purple and Yahoo is colorful. It’s like living in some alternate reality.
Shades of Gray. Orange Is The New Black. The Scarlet Letter. Colors are clearly important in marketing. We know. And you have also probably noticed that a lot of companies use blue in their logos. Plus Blue Is The Warmest Color. Sooooo yeah.
You want an iPod Touch and/or iPod Nano in "Space Grey"? You got it! Because of course. Goldpagne however, is still reserved for the iPhone 5S bourgeoisie.
Yes, new rumors about iPhone colors seem to come along every day now. But these images from Weekly Ascii in Japan show an intriguing look at the champagne version of the alleged iPhone 5S model allegedly coming September 10, next to black and white iPhone 5 models… allegedly, of course. If real, they match up with previous images, while also showing a bit more refinement in the design and quality. The new color would be far from the blingy gold we saw before, though, perhaps ruining the dreams of the Chanel-bag-and-small-dog crowd. Grab your salt shaker and check after the break for another shot, or hit the source to see them all.
