iOS 7 is just so colorful! It’s so light! It’s so fun! But not only that, the colors all blend together in a beautiful watercolor effect. It’s like a pastel psychedelic trip. It’s like seeing the palette of an artist obsessed with Easter. I wonder where Jony Ive got the idea for that color scheme. I wonder what his inspiration was. Wonder no more.

Just as CEO JK Shin predicted, Samsung has announced its new Galaxy S 4 topped 10 million units sold in record time. That beats the 50 days it took the Galaxy S III to sell that many, a mark it took 5 months for the Galaxy S II to pass and 7 months for the original Galaxy S. Samsung has been able to crank up production and speed up worldwide rollouts for its increasingly popular flagship models, contributing to the rapidly increasing pace of sales. To help keep the sales channels flowing, Samsung also announced a few new colors on the way. Joining the existing White Mist and Black Forest models this summer are Blue Arctic and Red Aurora, followed later by Purple Mirage and Brown Autumn editions. Of course, the model many will covet is the one with stock Android announced at Google I/O, but that may depend on whether you want your customizations inside or outside.

Following some important pricing details, preorder launches and some concrete hardware specs, we’ve just got to play with the new Jolla phone. Sure, we’ve already toyed with the software, but today’s event is all about the new physical home for the Sailfish OS. It could be a difficult sell in the cutthroat world of smartphones, there’s certainly something compelling in Jolla’s split design and all those of color options, regardless of what functionality they might add in the future.

You might recall the weather-sealed delights of Pentax’s K-30, but if you don’t, perhaps a new palette of colors will leave a more permanent impression. The 16.3-megapixel DSLR can now be picked up in 15 new finishes, split between gloss and matte, and includes Bordeaux (that’ll be deep red), White, Orange, Yellow, Green, Silver and Blue colors. However, it’s still not the most customization options Pentax has offered. The K-30 has a long way to go if it wants to best the 100 variants of its mirrorless sibling, the Q10. Each one retails for $800, but to get the full catalog, you’ll have to pass the digital doors of Pentax’s online store.
