The news has been largely positively received by users of the app. Amazon should certainly help this platform grow. Not everyone is happy though. Some people don’t like Amazon’s policies. However, those people need to take a deep breath. It just went down, so lets wait and see what happens.

Press release:

ComiXology’s mission is to spread the love of comics and graphic novels in all forms,” said David Steinberger, co-founder and CEO of comiXology. “There is no better home for comiXology than Amazon to see this vision through. Working together, we look to accelerate a new age for comic books and graphic novels.”

“Amazon and comiXology share a passion for reinventing reading in a digital world,” said David Naggar, Amazon Vice President, Content Acquisition and Independent Publishing. “We’ve long admired the passion comiXology brings to changing the way we buy and read comics and graphic novels. We look forward to investing in the business, growing the team, and together, bringing comics and graphic novels to even more readers.

Will this be a new age for digital comics? We sure hope so.

An awesome guy made an insane Thor hammer that smashes everything

This ridiculously awesome man made version of Thor’s hammer Mjölnir is so impressive that even our most Thor-like human Chris Hemsworth would have trouble swinging it around. Though it’s not quite the weight of 300 billion elephants, it’s the closest thing to Mjölnir on Earth. That’s because it’s made from 10 separate pieces of steel alloyed with chromium and molybdenum. At its heaviest, it can weigh over 200 pounds.

The Complete Visual History of Wolverine’s Suit

The Complete Visual History of Wolverine's Suit

Oh, that yellow spandex with beautiful blue trunks. As classic as that suit was, I have no beef with Wolverine’s badassery tossing that away in the movies (plus, with a body like Hugh Jackman’s…). But still, it’s nice to see the Wolverine we all loved as a child again. Here’s the full history of all the suits that Wolverine has ever worn.

What If… The Avengers Were All Sentient Artificial Intelligences?

What If... The Avengers Were All Sentient Artificial Intelligences?

"What if" is sort of a loaded phrase in the Marvel Universe. Writers have always been able to ramble off a What If… Wolverine had hot dogs for claws!? and then you’d see "WHAT IF: HOT DOG WOLVERINE" on a spinner rack. But sometimes, just from the nature of comics being batshit insane, we get thought experiments played out long form. And so after Age of Ultron ended with a huge influx of artificial intelligence beings in the Marvel universe, we now have Avengers AI, an Avengers team captained by the Vision. An entire team of gadget Avengers, basically.
