Creative Sound Blaster Play! 2 USB Sound Card Announced

Creative Sound Blaster Play! 2 USB Sound Card AnnouncedBack when I was a wee lad, installing a sound card onto your MS-DOS-powered computer would require you to pull out the toolbox, take a screwdriver, and start to tinker around with the motherboard as you slot in a dedicated sound card into an available ISA slot, followed by having various games configure the sound card afterwards. Over time, the humble sound card has been miniaturized and embedded on most motherboards which works great for most folks unless you were an audiophile. Now, we have a USB sound card that is as easy as it gets to use, and the Creative Sound Blaster Play! 2 is one such device.

Microsoft: Japanese Bank Upgrades 30,000 Terminals To Windows 8 From Windows XPThe race against time is on, as machines that run on Windows XP would soon be at a disadvantage as no more security updates will be offered for that particular platform, as Microsoft hopes that the world would make the jump to the Windows 8 platform. Having said that, plenty of banks worldwide have ATMs and computers that run on Windows XP, and these have been urged to make the jump already. Resona Holdings of Japan, which happens to be the parent company of a number of banks in the Land of the Rising Sun, has recently upgraded 30,000 of its client terminals from Windows XP to Windows 8.

Windows Start Menu Really Coming Back

Windows Start Menu Really Coming BackAs the world switched to Windows 8, one of the most annoying fact or “pain point” as Microsoft would say, was the departure of the Start Menu, which a whole lot of people used as a hub to search for files and get to find apps that use less frequently. The Start Menu button was just “gone”, and boy, user were unhappy to have to hack their way to a Start Menu.
