NVIDIA Pascal Architecture Introduced

NVIDIA Pascal Architecture IntroducedAt the GTC conference in San Jose, NVIDIA has officially introduced its next-generation architecture called Pascal (after scientist Blaise Pascal). Although it is “a couple of years away”, NVIDIA talked about a few new fundamental architecture changes that will take Pascal to the next level, when compared to its latest Maxell GPU architecture which was just launched recently on desktop and laptops.

Instead, Pascal has been introduced between Maxwell and Volta as NVIDIA saw an opportunity to introduce an intermediate architecture that was significant enough to justify its development.  (more…)

Microsoft Azure To Usher In A New Era (Rumor)

Microsoft Azure To Usher In A New Era (Rumor)Parting is always such sweet sorrow, or so the saying goes. I suppose it is time to bid goodbye to Windows Azure and give Microsoft Azure a nice, big welcome hug. Why so? Apparently, Microsoft intends to rebrand its cloud platform so that it will no longer be called ‘Windows Azure’, but rather, one would have to refer to it as ‘Microsoft Azure’ from now on as part of the software giant’s push to emphasize its cross-platform services prowess, if the anonymous tips shared online prove to have credibility.

Urban Jungle Street View Turns Your World Upside Down

Urban Jungle Street View Turns Your World Upside DownEver wondered how life would be like when the world has run its course, and you alongside a few other hapless folk happen to be the last inhabitants left? California Department Of Motor Vehicles Suffers Credit Card Data BreachIt does not matter where you are right now, but basically all companies should always do their utmost best to make sure that they do not end up as a victim of a credit card data breach. I suppose one can chalk up the California Department of Motor Vehicles as the latest victim in an ever growing list, where this wide-ranging security breach could have affected up to thousands of citizens, at least according to some sources. It was earlier in the week that MasterCard issued an alert that noted that credit cards which were used online in transactions that had California’s DMV could have resulted in the theft of data and personal information, where among them included credit card numbers, expiration dates, and three-digit security codes.

In the past, we have seen various upgrades introduced to the Raspberry Pi, where the most recent one was a sound card, although a camera add-on was also spoken of a couple of years ago. This time around, it seems that a team of developers has the dream of seeing an HDMI input being thrown into the mix so that you are able to use the Raspberry Pi and capture video from a wide range of sources.
