Chrome Gets Hands-free Google Voice Search

Chrome Gets Hands free Google Voice Search The modern day smartphone and computer loves to help us multitask, but some things in life simply does not make for such an allowance. For instance, those who tried to cook and perform a search on the Internet simultaneously would not be too pleased with either result – not only will your keyboard or tablet get stained, but you might miss out one crucial ingredient or overcook your dish. Fret not, Google knows what a bummer this can feel like, hence in their latest Chrome Beta, one is able to perform a search using Google Voice Search, which translates to doing away with any kind of typing, clicking or hand-washing. All that you need to do is to open up a brand new tab or visit Google.com in Chrome, say “Ok Google,” before you begin your search by speaking.

Some Early Mac Pro Orders Delayed Until March

Some Early Mac Pro Orders Delayed Until MarchAfter teasing the new Mac Pro at WWDC 2013, Apple finally released the computer towards the end of 2013. While the new Mac Pro boasted a brand new and very unique design that was packed with powerful hardware, it seems that the demand for the computers could be higher than what Apple had anticipated as they were having difficulty keeping up with demand.

We have seen shipping times slip to February and April for those who were a little slow in placing their orders, but now according to reports, it seems that Apple will be delaying some early Mac Pro orders until March, meaning that some customers who bothered to place their order early can only expect their new Mac Pros next week at the earliest. Windows 8.1 With Bing Could Be Attempt At Free Windows Offer

Windows 8.1 With Bing Could Be Attempt At Free Windows OfferIt was not too long ago when there was a brand new Windows 8.1 Update 1 build which leaked onto the Internet, where it was given the label “Windows 8.1 with Bing.” Taking into consideration how Bing SmartSearch happens to be part of Windows 8.1 already, this has led to many people thinking just what this mysterious SKU is all about when the real deal is introduced to the masses eventually. Unnamed sources today mentioned that Windows 8.1 with Bing happens to be an experiment for Microsoft, where the actual SKU sported minor differences from the other versions of Windows 8.1, and it could very well be one way for Microsoft to lay the bait of Bing-related incentives, so that either consumers or OEMs could enjoy free Windows down the road.

Facebook Messenger For Firefox Shuts Down March 3rd

Facebook Messenger For Firefox Shuts Down March 3rdBoy, it is not too long after we brought you word that Facebook Messenger for Windows would shut down this coming March 3rd, and here we are with word that on the very same day itself, Facebook Messenger for Firefox, too, would also shut down. This similar kill date points to the sentiment at Facebook, that the social networking giant is not too interested in working on desktop apps. Facebook had already killed off its Messenger for Firefox page as well as its corresponding Help Center page, as both pages will now show off a generic error. Those who happen to still have the add-on will find an identical end-of-support message that is shown off at the top of the application which is similar to the one in Facebook Messenger for Windows.

Snow Leopard Support Killed, 1 In 5 Macs Left Vulnerable

Mac OS X 10.6, better known as Snow Leopard, is almost four and a half years old. The last security update for this iteration was released back in September 2013. It was left out in the update released in December, as well as in the one released day before yesterday. Most recent OS X update brings fixes for OS X 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9, but leaves out Snow Leopard. While Apple doesn’t usually spell out support policies, it seems that the company has pretty much killed support for Snow Leopard.

Mail Issues Persist On Mavericks Even After 10.9.2 Update

Even though OS X Mavericks comes with a plethora of new features, one of the core features has been plagued with bugs since launch. The native Mail application has been the cause of many headaches and much criticism for Apple. Soon after Mavericks was released, Apple rolled out an incremental update in November last year to address the issues but that didn’t quite do that rick. While the company has been recommending temporary fixes, some thought that yesterday’s OS X update might finally fix Mail, but isn’t the case.

Top Gun Movie Tweeted Frame By Frame

Top Gun Movie Tweeted Frame By FrameWho can forget the dashing good looks of Tom Cruise when he appeared in Top Gun? Well, that film still remains pretty popular among the masses until now, so much so that a Twitter account was recently caught tweeting the Top Gun film – frame-by-frame, until the account was suspended because of a complaint from the film studio. The legal eagles over at Paramount Pictures claimed that doing so via Twitter actually breached the copyright of the 1986 movie. Although this particular decision might be legally correct, but does it follow the spirit of the law? Many on social media sites have derided this particular decision as heavy-handed.
