Japanese Researchers Breath-Controlled PC Mouse

Japanese Researchers Breath Controlled PC Mouse

Moving your mouse around with your hands is so 1963 as technology has advanced to a point where we can use other parts of our bodies in order to move around our desktop’s cursor. We’ve seen cameras that are able to track our bodies and eyes to figure out what we want to do with our desktop cursor, but a team of researchers at Kinki University in Japan have developed a way to move your mouse with nothing more than your breath. Apple Announces Fix Incoming For MacBook Pros With Keyboard/Trackpad Issues

Apple Announces Fix Incoming For MacBook Pros With Keyboard/Trackpad IssuesThe other day we reported that late 2013 MacBook Pros were suffering from keyboard and trackpad freezing issues. Well the good news is that Apple has since acknowledged the issue and has stated that a fix will be coming soon.“Apple is aware of rare circumstances where the built-in keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad may become unresponsive on 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display (Late 2013) computers and is working on an update to resolve this behavior.” It is unknown as to when the fix will be released, but hopefully for the sake of new MacBook Pro owners, it will be sooner rather than later.

This issue has affected Apple’s latest 13” Retina MacBook Pros and is definitely not the kind of experience they want first-time MacBook Pro customers to have. The glitch is such that for some reason or the other, the keyboard and/or the trackpad of the laptop will suddenly freeze and stop working and that the only way to actually get the keyboard and trackpad to start working again would be a hard reset, which is accomplished by pressing and holding onto the Power button on their computers. As it stands there is a thread going on at Apple’s support page that spans 67 pages where numerous MacBook Pro owners have voiced their complaints over the matter.

Lenovo turned heads recently when they announced their Yoga Tablet, which are two Android 4.2.2 tablets that come with large capacity batteries that hope to extend their use past what we would consider would be an acceptable amount of battery life. This article was written on April 03, 2008 by CyberNet.

poll reading cybernet It’s time for a new poll today! The results from the last poll regarding how long you’ve been reading CyberNet News is pictured to the right. Well over half of our readers have been with us for over 6 months, and we’re extremely grateful for that! Those of you who have been reading us for over 2-years… all I can say is wow!

Now our inquiring minds are wondering another thing: How old is your primary computer? I’ve seen some people in the last few months who are using ancient computers that are still running rather old operating systems like Windows 98. More power to them if it fits the bill, but I couldn’t imagine using a computer that old.

Personally Ashley and I just got new laptops about a year ago, but how old is your primary computer? Cast your vote in the sidebar of our site, or if you have Flash enabled you can vote right here:

Man Files Class-Action Lawsuit Against Apple Over Failing 27″ iMac Displays

Man Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Apple Over Failing 27 iMac DisplaysApple has recently been hit with a class-action lawsuit in which a man from Idaho claims that Apple had long knew about problems with the 27” iMac display, but did nothing to correct it, resulting in him purchasing the device only to have it fail on him 18 months later. When he took it in for repair, he found that it would cost him a whopping $500 and while it is not under warranty, presumably what incensed the man was how he found that there was a 300-page thread on the AppleCare support problems detailing the issue, but nothing has been done about it yet.

The man is seeking $5 million in damages in which hopefully it will be able to cover all iMac users between 2009 to 2012 who might have been affected by the problem and had to fork out money to repair it, despite Apple’s knowledge of the matter. According to the complaint, “Despite numerous complaints … Apple has refused to publicly acknowledged the screen-dimming effect […] and [it] has failed to stand behind its representations and products and offer a fix for impacted consumers.” For those unfamiliar with the problem, it seems that there is a chance an iMac display from 2009 to 2012 might fail in the sense that half of the display would go dim for no reason apart from possible hardware failure. Apple has yet to respond to the lawsuit.

What Happens When Two Computers Play Rock Paper Scissors?

Nothing. If nothing meant becoming lulled into hypnosis as two machines battle each other out in a human game that can be interpreted through specific algorithms. If nothing meant secretly betting on which computer is superior. If nothing meant enjoying the beats and pulses of anticipation as each screen throws out its pick. If nothing meant I could waste hours watching these two go virtual hand to hand with each other.
