Coyote Case Protects Both Your iPhone & You

A few days ago we saw an iPhone case with a built-in pepper spray. The Coyote Case isn’t as aggressive, but it was invented with the same idea in mind: to protect the owner of the phone as well as it protects the phone itself. The case tries to accomplish this by freaking out.

By pressing a button, you can activate the 100dB siren built into the case. But aside from the tried and tested scream for help trick, the Coyote Case has a more advanced and more practical feature. You can also set it to send an emergency text that contains a map of your location when you press its button. The case is also fairly customizable. You can set it to activate by just pressing one of its buttons or require both buttons to be pressed. You can also choose whether activating the case will make it emit the siren and send a text or just one of the two.

A pledge of at least $60 (USD) on Indiegogo gets you a Coyote Case for your iPhone 4, 4S or 5 if it gets funded. I think it’s easy to see that the Spraytect and this case have their pros and cons. The Spraytect is far more useful if you don’t have the time to call for help or if you have nowhere to run from the bad guys. On the other hand, I think the Coyote Case is more versatile. For example, you can use it to help people find you if you’re lost, whether or not someone’s after you.

ADzero bamboo smartphone gets further detailed

Remember ADzero, the world’s first ever bamboo-based phone? Well, AD Creative, the company behind the cool concept has just revealed the final design and specs of the device last week, where it is now poised for a Kickstarter campaign. ADzero will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will be powered by a Samsung 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 quad-core processor that is fully-backed by a 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

With a 134 x 68 x 11.8 mm dimension, the phone sports a 4.5-inch TFT LCD display with a 720 x 1280 HD resolution at 326ppi. Other features include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a 2050 mAh battery, and an optional ADAOS (Open Bootloader) operating system. Its creators are planning to sell the device for $700, where early buyers could enjoy a $200 discount.

Unfortunately, no word for its actual Kickstarter debut has been announced. The ADzero smartphone concept was launched last year in London. According to its creators, the team has been “working solidly over the last year to enhance the design of the ADzero bamboo smartphone while developing its own customised ADOAS operating system.”

Samsung foldable touchscreen device coming soon?

samsung_logoSamsung intends to roll out their very first foldable touchscreen device sometime in 2013, where it is touted to be known as the Samsung GT-B9150. Rumors have been swirling around, touting that this foldable touchscreen device will feature a 5.3” Super AMOLED HD Dual display. Techjailbreak claims that this spanking new Android-powered will be easier to be known as the Samsung Galaxy Q. Do you concur?

It seems that Samsung might actually use their spanking new Exynos 5250 processor, in addition to carrying an 8-megapixel camera at the back, while there will be a 2-megapixel shooter up front. Apart from that, 2GB RAM is tipped to grace the purported Galaxy Q, and connectivity options will come in the form of NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, packing a rather hefty 3500mAh battery. We will not be too surprised about the battery though, since you will need all the juice possible to power such a touchscreen. Will it run on Jelly Bean then? Only time will tell, but pretty much everything else is up in the air at the moment. Just last year, we spotted a concept phone with a foldable AMOLED display from Samsung.

The BeoSmart smartphone concept combines Bang & Olufsen and Leica’s expertise into a mobile device

When it comes to cameras, Leica is usually the brand name associated with high-end cameras that supposedly deliver amazing quality photographs. When it comes to audio, Bang & Olufsen could be thought of to be on the same level as Leica – high-end audio products that supposedly deliver superb sound quality. Both of course are subject to opinion and personal preference, but they are both undeniably the top of the range when it comes to their respective products. So what would it be like if both products merged together and became a luxury smartphone? That’s what Hugo André Costa Vieira Fernandes came up with in his concept, the BeoSmart.

It is a smartphone powered by Android and the front of the phone has been designed to look like B&O’s products, while the back of the phone is reminiscent of Leica’s cameras. According to the designer, the camera will be a 12MP Leica CMOS camera with Full HD video capture and feature a specially crafted lens. The audio will be powered by B&O’s technology and will even feature a 24k gold audio output! Now we’ve seen a couple of luxury smartphones in the past and as far as design is concerned, they have been pretty gaudy and the BeoSmart is no different, although in this case the audio and camera aspects might actually be pretty good if it was made a reality. Safe to say the BeoSmart would cost a small fortune if ever released, but what do you guys think?
