Being a superhero is the best job in the world. Not only do you save the world and get the girl and receive the world’s adulation, you’re also somehow rich enough (even though you’re above the idea of money) to have a sick secret headquarters that every kid dreams about. And though your hero headquarters are typically less extravagant than your villain’s lair, they’re still prime real estate. Here is a list showing you which hero had the best headquarters.

You know the Hitchcock zoom effect: A camera on a dolly moves back or forward as the lenses zoom in or out, changing the field of view. French photographer Micaël Reynaud has created a new variation of the technique—which you can see above—combining the dolly zoom with slit-scan photography.
This is a really unusual weather situation, according to the National Weather Service: Three low pressure systems in line over the entirety of North America. NASA Goddard describes them as "three atmospheric dragons." They do look like dragons! It must be a Game of Thrones’ marketing ploy.

I have to confess I know little about Sydney but—judging by this tilt-shift time-lapse short by Filippo Rivetti—it looks like a perfect city with nice architecture and beautiful beaches. I wish I were there right now.
Gravity is a pen and pad that allows to sketch in 3D space using augmented reality. The cool patent-pending system hardware and software system has gone through several working prototypes and now they are looking to start manufacturing. Check out the video—it’s pretty cool.

All right. Okay. Wow. After getting teased with an itty bit of Jupiter Ascending, we now get to see the full trailer and it’s all kind of fantasy sci-fi perfect. A battle for Earth, spaceships, machine porn, alien worlds, superpowers, guessing when Sean Bean will die, The Wachowskis, the movie seems to have it all.
NASA has finalized the "the initial design and technology development phase for the Ground Systems Development and Operations (GSDO) Program" that will build and launch their new manned spacecraft fleet. They made a fascinating technical video that shows how they will assemble and launch "different spacecraft and rockets in development for human exploration."
