Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid-i mechanical gaming keyboard works even in dark environments

quickfire-rapidGamers can be quite a picky lot when it comes to the kind of hardware that they use to dispatch off their opponents in the game genre of their choice, and this time around, we have the QuickFire Rapid-i mechanical gaming keyboard with ActivLite Technology from the folks over at Cooler Master. I know, right? Cooler Master is more often than not associated with desktop components and mobile accessories, and their range of gaming peripherals aren’t all that pervasive as opposed to the likes of Razer or even Logitech. Still, the QuickFire Rapid-i that happens to be a fully featured and backlit mechanical keyboard will deliver full keyboard illumination and unique lighting effects to wow onlookers, not to mention letting you play with all the lights off without having to miss a single keystroke.

The QuickFire Rapid-i’s ActivLite Technology is powered by a 32-bit ARM processor, where it will be able to deliver 5 lighting modes with 5 brightness levels. With ActivLite Technology, users will be able to enjoy a richer aesthetic to their space, and one of such modes happen to enable the backlight in order to brightly illuminate upon each key press, before it fades softly away as your fingers dance on to the next key. This is one deeply satisfying visual trail effect, and I am sure that watching operate it in the dark can be mesmerizing to some, too. In addition, the ActivLite Technology would also enable users to be able to individually program keys for unique game and application uses, as the onboard memory makes it possible to save profiles that store up to four different presets.

The QuickFire Rapid-i will also come with laser-marked keycaps and a non-glossy matte finish over tactile and quiet mechanical switches, sporting a response time of 1ms. Gaming on your travels is a snap, where you can easily remove the included braided USB cable and stash it away, while the super-slim body makes of an easy traveling companion.

Cooler Master Unveils Quickfire Stealth Mechanical Keyboard

Cooler Master Unveils Quickfire Stealth Mechanical KeyboardFor those who love typing and receiving both tactile and audio feedback while they bang away at their keys, mechanical keyboards are probably the way to go over their rubber domed, scissor-styled keyboards which offer quieter profiles and softer touches. Now if you’re in the market for a new mechanical keyboard, Cooler Master has unveiled the Quickfire Steam mechanical keyboard which is essentially a more refined version of its Quickfire Rapid mechanical keyboard. Right off the bat, the first thing you will notice is that the lettering and numbering on this keyboard is not immediately visible.

Yup, Cooler Master has taken the letters and numbers commonly found on keyboards and inscribed them at the sides of the keys themselves, meaning that on the surface it would seem like you are facing a blank keyboard. While a bit confusing, this will no doubt appeal to purists/elitists who don’t bother looking at the keys when the type, plus without actually touching the letterings/numberings, it will probably take a while before they start to fade.

Available in Cherry MX red, blue, brown or green (CM Storm exclusive), pricing of the keyboard will begin at $89.99 for the Cherry MX brown, and $104.99 for the Cherry MX green.

QuickFire Stealth Keyboard Gives Geeks the Clicky Keys They Love

Cooler Master has announced a new gaming keyboard that has those clicky mechanical keys that gamers know and love. Clicky keys are also favored by touch typists thanks to nice tactile feedback and the fact that the clicky clacking can drive your cubicle mates insane. The new gaming keyboard is called the QuickFire Stealth.

At first glance, it looks like one of those strange keyboards with no symbols on any of the keys. It actually has symbols on every key, only they’re on the front edge of the keys rather than the tops. That’s actually a pretty interesting idea because it means your fingers won’t be constantly rubbing against the letters and numbers so they’ll never wear off, but you can still tell which key is which. The mechanical switches also promise incredibly long life with over 50 million keystrokes guaranteed.

The gaming keyboard has four different types of Cherry MX mechanical switches available, ranging from strong resistance with force feedback to very low resistance with linear feedback. The QuickFire Stealth keyboard can be purchased directly from Cooler Master right now for $89.99(USD).
