Creepy Baby Masks Turn Adults into Big Babies

If you think that there’s no way baby masks would be anything but adorable, then think again.

That’s what I thought before I saw these masks by artist Landon Meier of Hyperflesh. And now that I’ve seen them, let me just say that they’re creepy as heck – even creepier than those scary clown masks that have haunted your nightmares ever since you were a kid.

Lifelike Baby Mask

I think the creep factor is brought about by the fact that the masks are designed to fit adults. That means they’re huge and, when worn, will turn anyone into a big, lumbering baby. The expressions don’t help either. Meier created three based on a baby’s common expressions: happy, crying, and disgusted. Suffice it to say, they all still look extremely creepy. There’s no other word for it.

They’re pretty expensive, too. Each mask is priced at $350(USD) and they can be bought over at Hyperflesh.

Stormtrooper Easter Bunny Costume: The Empire Hops Back

Check out this awesome Stormtrooper Easter bunny. I say it’s about time we changed the whole Easter bunny thing and I can’t think of anything better than a Bunnytrooper.

bunnytrooper stormtrooper

Wait, that’s no moon under his arm. It’s an egg-shaped space station! Forget chocolate and your dumb Easter cards. Forget all that fake plastic grass and Easter egg hunts. Let’s make Easter all about Star Wars toys and the almighty Stormtrooper bunny can be our mascot. We all need one more reason to dress up in our Star Wars garb.

Plus, a Bunnytrooper is just scary enough to scare kids into doing all of their chores and behaving. Let’s make this happen people. I’m having an Imperial Easter this year.

Iron Man + TRON = TRON Man

We’re all about superheroes around here today, and why not end the night with something truly awesome? What you’re looking at here is a cool Iron Man helmet design, dressed up with TRON-style electroluminescent lighting.

iron man tron

It was made by Sauer33, and it is truly a sight to behold (at least in the dark). He created the helmet design for an Instructables contest, though I’ve yet to be able to find the full gallery of pics. I’m guessing it’s not yet live on the site. Regardless, if I saw Iron Man flying through the night sky wearing this, I’d definitely feel even more intimidated. Just look at those red eyes. And that strong yellow jawline.

Given Tony Stark’s propensity for the theatrical, there’s no way he would turn down the opportunity to wear one of these helmets. The only thing better would be an entire set of light-up armor. I’m sure Mr. Stark could afford to build one.

Bacon Dress: Let’s Meat Tonight

We’ve featured some unusual fashions here over the years, but I’m not sure whether I should be drooling or nauseous from this insane creation – the bacon dress.

bacon dress

While the smell and taste of sizzling bacon is delectable, the idea of a greasy, slimy all-meat dress makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth. But I’m also oddly aroused. Is that wrong? Yes, it is.

I’m going to go make myself a BLT now.

Slave Leo: The Gender Swings Back

Back in 2011, Ryan of Mad Art Lab wrote a post publicly condemning the Slave Leia costume. He had a couple of good reasons, but he realized that he had gone overboard, which is why last week he revised his stance. If some men just want to watch the world burn, some women just want to wear a Slave Leia costume. It’s as simple as that. So he decided to join in on the fun too.

Mad. Swag. Ryan was also partly inspired by a group of girls who wore gender bent versions of Star Wars characters – they had a female Darth Vader, Han Solo and even a female Artoo. He also said that it was a chance for him to step outside of his comfort zone. Finally, Ryan took his concept as an opportunity to challenge himself artistically. He didn’t just buy a Slave Leia costume; he actually spent months making his own costume using cloth, metal and leather, and making adjustments here and there to come up with a male version of the famous outfit.

Ryan says he’ll be rockin’ Slave Leo at this year’s Dragoncon. I hope the convention’s got ample heating. You can check out more pictures of Ryan in his Slave Leo outfit on Mad Art Lab. You know you want to.

Pegasus Knight Armor Hoodie Offers Killer Looks with None of the Danger

Did you always want to be a knight back in medieval times? Well, it was probably pretty overrated, what with the plague, and constant risk of being skewered by your enemies on a daily basis. But now you can look like a medieval knight without any such challenges, and keep warm while doing it.

This awesome handmade Pegasus Knight Armor Hoodie is made by South Korean textile artist Catherine Kim of I Am Knight. The unisex hoodie is made from durable Lycra, “tacter” and “thermo,” whatever those materials are. But does it really matter? It’s an armor hoodie – with Pegasus’ wings on the helmet.

And if for some reason you don’t feel like wearing the whole thing, the wings, mask, and sleeves are removable – but why would you want to? Just check out those spiky laced vambrace sleeves. Nobody’s gonna mess with you while you walk through dark alleys wearing this thing.

You can get your grubby little hands on the Pegasus Armor Hoodie over on Etsy for $348(USD) in S, M, L or XL sizes.

Lawn Dinosaur Gets Dressed for Every Season

Redditor Sarcasticonomist says that his family has a lawn dinosaur named Dug. They dress him up according to the season, and he even has his own Facebook page. I can only assume that the owners of the home are named Fred and Wilma.

He says that the dinosaur was purchased from a place that sold such things, though I’m not sure what store sells large dinosaurs. Who does this? Well, somebody does. It certainly makes for a fun neighborhood attraction. I especially love this big guy dressed in a bunny suit for Easter. Here he is getting ready for the big game tonight:

dug dinosaur sfo

Guess he’s not a Ravens’ fan. Dinosaurs would be so pissed at us if they were still around to see this. The joke’s on them. We rule the Earth now! And no one can stop us. Well, except for those aliens that abduct us and will one day rule the world side by side with the robots.

Pee-Wee Herman Cycling Suit: I Know You Are, But What am I?

In Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, the eponymous character spends most of the film on a quest to recover his beloved bicycle. But say you already have a spiffy-looking Schwinn Phantom cruiser like Pee-Wee? Don’t you need an outfit to go with it? Sure you do.

Since you probably don’t want to get your actual suit and bow tie all muddy, you might want to pick up one of these Pee-Wee Herman-inspired skinsuits from Podium for $149.99(USD). Unlike Pee-Wee’s suit, this one is made from stretchy MITI Lycra Shield endurance fabric, with a durably YKK zipper and MAB Powerband leg grippers to keep them in place as you hit top speeds on your trusty two-wheeled steed.

Dovahkiin Full Daedric Armor Costume: FUS-RO-WHOA!

Man, look at that armor. It would take me like 400 hours to find all of that stuff in the game, let alone in real life. Look at those swords. This cosplay rocks the world of Skyrim.

This full Daedric Armor suit was built and is worn by ZERIOS88 who is obviously a wizard at making this stuff. He is a hobbyist who likes to make fantasy video game armor and weapons.

This armor is really beautiful. I might be biased because I played so much Skyrim, but I think you will agree that it is pretty spectacular. And those weapons. This makes me want to play the game all over again.

Alien Hive Gathers for Family Portrait

Guys and gals, you’d better start getting your flamethrowers and power loaders ready, because the Alien invasion has begun. At least that’s what I’ve been led to believe by this photo.

While you might be getting ready to run for the air lock, these guys were actually all dressed up in their finest Alien gear for the Aliens Anniversary Weekend back in 2011, so you’re safe for now. I spotted this image over on Abi-T-Xeno’s DeviantArt page, along with some other more amusing Alien and Predator images, including my personal fave, Alien vs. Predator: British Style:
