Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is free to play this weekend

Counter-Strike is one of those classic FPS games that many of us grew up with, and if you’re like me, chances are you might have gotten your hands on the latest iteration of the game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Well if you haven’t either because you didn’t know about it, or because you weren’t sure if it was the same game that you remembered from back in the day, you will be able to give the game a go this weekend. Valve has announced that they will be putting up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for free this weekend and the offer is said to be running from now until Sunday 1PM. All you need to do is launch Steam (or download it if you haven’t), scroll down to the “free weekend” banner and you should be able to get your hands on the game then. So if you were wondering what to do this weekend, it looks like you might have your answer!

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to receive Zombie Mod on launch day

If you felt that the whole Counter Terrorists versus Terrorist scenario in Counter-Strike was getting a little stale and you wanted to spice things up a bit, you will now be able to. As some of you guys might recall, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is due for a release on the 21st of August, and accompanying the release is a mod from plaguefest.com which as you can imagine from the screenshot above, will introduce zombies into the game. So if you haven’t pre-ordered your copy, you will be interested to learn that the 10% pre-order discount is still going on should you choose to pre-order your copy from Steam. So, who’s looking forward to playing as zombies?

Upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive patch detailed, Mac support incoming

Counter-Strike: Global OffensiveYesterday we announced that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pre-orders had begun, and today Valve has revealed additional information about the upcoming game, such as how pre-purchasing customers will get a 10% discount on the game and will also have access to the beta which will be taking place on the 14th of August. Valve has also announced that they will be updating the game prior to the beta test taking place on the 14th of August, so if you’re a hardcore gamer and want to stay ahead of all the changes and whatnot, pop on over to the Counter-Strike blog for the details. The company has also announced that they will be adding support for Mac users, so fret not as Mac users will eventually be able to get in on the Counter-Strike action in the near future. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be released on the 21st of August.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pre-orders begin today

Good news gamers, if you were lucky enough to get an invite to play the beta version of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you might be interested to learn that according to the Counter-Strike website, it seems that pre-orders for the game will be starting today for Steam, and is expected to go up for pre-orders on PSN on the 14th. It is expected to be priced at $15 which we have to admit isn’t too expensive and should be affordable for gamers who might not have been able to get in on the beta. As it stands the Steam store still has not been updated to reflect the pre-orders yet, so you might want to keep an eye for it as it should go live later today. The game itself is expected to see a release on the 21st of August. So, who else is looking forward to getting their hands on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive? I know I am!
