Facebook May Be Ditching The Two-Column Timeline Design

If you were to go back a year, you’d see a whole lot of rage directed towards the Facebook timeline redesign. If you were to ask today, many Facebook users wouldn’t even remember the controversy. However, seems like Facebook didn’t like its own redesign, so its tweaking personal pages yet again: select users, when they log in, will see a new personal page with the wall presented in a single column format. The wall again becomes a list, and they get the left side. Open graph actions, like all those apps you approved and then never used again, or the Spotify songs you recently listened (basically all the low-value detrius) gets the right hand side. Slapping someone for looking at Facebook is officially the best job

Here’s good work if you can find it–eight bucks an hour to slap another human being. Repeatedly. Writer Maneesh Sethi was disappointed with how much time he wasted looking at social media instead of doing work, and posted a Craiglist ad looking for a dedicated slapper. Every time he logged onto Facebook, he wanted someone to hit him. Craigslist quietly switching to OpenStreetMap data

TPM is reporting that Craigslist is embedding maps on its housing adverts from crowdsourced mapping site, OpenStreetMap. While the listings-site isn’t boasting of the change, it’s the fourth major name to dump Google’s service after Foursquare, Wikipedia Mobile and Apple. While Mountain View has cut the cost of accessing its Maps API, it looks like budget-conscious corporations may be looking elsewhere.
