Well, hmph. That’s not how drones work guys. Supposedly, this video shows Portugal attempting to launch a naval drone by giving it a running start. As the drone is thrown in the air to fly, it immediately nosedives and crashes into the ocean. What a wonderful failure.
At just before 3 am CT this morning, a Blue Line train at Chicago’s O’Hare airport jumped the rails. And kept going.

I came across this crazy video today. It shows the crash landing of a Royal Air Force Harrier plane landing at Kandahar back in 2009. Watch as fire engulfs the plane as the pilot tries to control it, jumping at the very last second, when the flames reach the cockpit.

When a ship comes to the end of its working life, it has to be torn apart, piece-by-piece, to be disposed of. By that point, though, little care needs to be taken in getting it ashore—so they’re just intentionally run aground. This is what it looks like.

Some days you get incredibly lucky. This guy who managed to record a video of a semi-trailer truck almost tipping over and crushing his car just had one of those days. The road was wet, the winds were strong and the truck was about to lose control and fall over. You don’t want any of that when you’re driving next to said truck. Phew. What a close one.

Oh my God. Look at this car violently tumble over and over and over again in a crash at a land speed event. The car is mutilated and destroyed and is hardly even recognizable as a vehicle anymore. It’s horrific. It’s awful. And it’s completely unbelievable that the driver of the car, racer Brian Gillespie, survived the crash with only minor injuries. It’s a miracle. He must be unbreakable.

The whole point of testing things is to ward off future problems, right? And the Navy has plenty to look into since a drone that was deployed as a radar test crashed into a ship during a weapons system test. Test. Testing. Test.

This terrifying two-plane crash somehow miraculously resulted in no fatalities. It’s insane that people could survive after two planes hit each other in mid-air. It’s almost impossible that everyone could survive from the fireball and ensuing chaos after the crash. But they did. Thank God.

Two planes carrying skydivers had a midair collision last night over northwest Wisconsin near Lake Superior. But everyone survived because they were planning to skydive out anyway. Additionally, one pilot was able to eject and the other landed his plane safely, even though it was severely damaged.

If internet chatter is to be believed, Apple has taken a rather unfortunate leaf out of Microsoft’s book: its iPhone 5S seems to be crashing in glorious style with a Blue Screen of Death.
