The World’s Most Confused Handheld Gaming System

Oh, China. You’re such a great nation, but sometimes we’ve got to call you on your ridiculous reinterpretations of trademarked and copyrighted works from other parts of the world. This handheld gaming console is one such example.

This ridiculously confused PVP Station Light 3000 handheld co-opts imagery from Sony, Nintendo, Rovio and Naughty Dog all in one single package. And having played some of these craptacular systems over the years, I’m going to bet it can’t even play most of the games referenced on its box. Or if it can, it does it very badly.

Activision Claims Crash Bandicoot Has Not Been Sold To Sony

Activision Claims Crash Bandicoot Has Not Been Sold To SonyThe other day we reported on the possibility that the Crash Bandicoot franchise was being sold back to Sony, but as it turns out that isn’t the case. This is according to a statement released by Activision whose spokesperson was quoted as saying to GameInformer, “Activision owns Crash Bandicoot and we continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life.” Assuming that this is the case, and that Activision isn’t trying to throw us for a loop, why is the website still down, and why is the game still not listed on Activision’s website? Could it be that negotiations are in the process and they don’t want us to know?

Crash Bandicoot was one of the original games for the first Sony PlayStation and was rather iconic given that the game was pretty played on every demo PS1 unit out there, especially since the game was a great way to show off what the console could do. The game was originally developed as a PlayStation exclusive for Sony by Naught Dog studios before it was sold to Activision who have not made a Crash Bandicoot game in years. In any case what do you guys think? Are you bummed that the franchise had not been sold back to Sony where it might see a revival on the PS4?

How about other games that could eventually end up on next generation consoles in the near future? The answer would be “perhaps”, as Amazon France has a listing which points to the possibility of a new Crash Bandicoot title that will appear over on the Sony PS4.

What you see above happens to be a screen capture of a product listing that was spotted over on Amazon France. Now, it would certainly raise hopes for folks who have been looking out for a new Crash Bandicoot title after all these years. Do bear in mind that this leak remains unconfirmed, and we do hope to find out whether it is a fake or not sooner rather than later.
