The Gymwatch Is A Fitness Tracker And Personal Trainer Rolled Into One

There are many of us out there who want to get in shape and while we do hit the gym, we’re sure there are many who are clueless as to what we need to do. Sure we can run on the treadmill, use the rowing machine, hop on the bike, but what about other activities? A personal trainer is a great way to go about learning the right moves and right exercises, but they can be pretty expensive which is where the Gymwatch comes in.

Unlike most wearable devices like smartwatches, the Gymwatch will offer more than just your typical biometrics sensors like a pedometer, heart rate sensor, and so on. According to the description, the Gymwatch is “basically a personal trainer shrunk to the size of a watch.”

The Gymwatch will come with a bevy of your usual sensors and in Free-Mode, it will be able to collect and measure data so that you can track your own progress. However if you wanted a little guidance, Guide-Mode comes into play and will link up with an app on your smartphone in which the app will not only help keep count during your exercises, it will also be able to tell you if you’re doing the exercise wrongly based on the measures of your movement.

Of course we can’t speak as to how effective the personal training mode will be, since there’s really no substitute to an actual personal trainer with years of experience, but if you don’t want to fork out for a personal trainer, perhaps the Gymwatch could prove itself to be a viable alternative. If you’d like to learn more or pledge a donation, hit up its Indiegogo page for the details.

The Rufus Cuff Will Put A 3-inch Screen On Your Wrist

The Rufus Cuff Will Put A 3 inch Screen On Your WristOne of the things that smartwatch makers are doing is that they’re trying to replicate the same size and comfort that normal watches offer, with the difference being that these watches are a lot more interactive and will do more than just tell the time. That’s one way of going about it, but what about those who’d rather a much bigger display?

Well that’s where the Rufus Cuff comes in and it is really is a “monster” on your wrist, at least compared to smartwatches. The Rufus Cuff will pack a 3-inch display and will come with a host of features that users might appreciate. This includes GPS, voice control via a built-in microphone, speakers, a camera, and even has access to the Google Play Store!

The device (we’re not sure if it can be considered a smartwatch anymore) will also play nicely with both Android and iOS devices. Interestingly enough it goes beyond what smartwatches can do and can even connect to the WiFi on its own, meaning that you won’t have to rely on it pairing with your phone for connectivity.

Now we have to admit that a 3-inch display is a little big as far as wrist wear is concerned, but if you don’t mind the size and actually appreciate the size since it would make surfing a lot better, you might want to head on over to its Indiegogo page where they are currently seeking funding. As it stands the project has managed to raise close to $180,000 which is shy of $20,000 from its goal and with 7 days to go, there is a chance that they might make it.

More On Imogen Heap’s Mi.Mu Glove For Music

Life without music is not worth living at all, at here we are with more details concerning the Mi.Mu gloves that we talked about not too long ago. Sure, there are 16 days left to go with slightly more than 33% of the funds required been raised, which means that time is running out from turning this into reality. Basically, Imogen Heap, the company behind the Mi.Mu gloves for music is looking for supporters who have an interest in owning a pair of these puppies, but would just want to be part of the ‘queue’ so to speak by pledging £10 before Imogen Heap discovers how to manufacture these bad boys for a cheaper price point and in a more efficient manner, and that would take some time – maybe up to a couple of years from now.

There is also the option to pick up a limited edition signed CD of Me The Machine (that will be available only in the Deluxe Box Set, and cannot be found anywhere else, ever), which will include the video, making of documentary, instrumental version and a dozen pages of artwork that will hopefully blow your mind away. Another way to support this project would be to purchase the Streemliner (digital) version of all of that for a mere £5. Should you love to dabble in remixes yourself, how about picking up the Me The Machine stems for 50 quid? [Kickstarter Page]

Cesium 133 Atomic Wristwatch On KickstarterOwning a watch is something that most of us already do, although I am quite sure that many of us prefer to take a look at our smartphones to tell the time (and use the opportunity to see if we have received any instant messages, SMS or emails to attend to them). However, if you happen to own a great looking watch of value, parading it on your wrist with pride is the way to go. How about taking a look into the future with the Cesium 133 timepiece?

LithiumCard Is A Charger That Can Fit In Your Wallet

LithiumCard Is A Charger That Can Fit In Your WalletWant to be able to charge your phone wherever you go? If that prospect sounds appealing to you but you don’t want to have to lug around a huge external battery pack, you might be interested in the LithiumCard. The charger was originally an Indiegogo project but it has since surpassed its original goal of $30,000 and has managed to rack up almost $170,000 in pledges, so safe to say that this project is good to go.

For those unfamiliar with the LithiumCard, it’s essentially a charger you can bring around with you relatively easily, thanks to its small nature and thin profile which measures 5.5mm thin, allowing you to easily slip it into your pocket or bag without it taking up too much space. But not only is the LithiumCard thin and easy to bring around, it is also fast. (more…)

FINsix Announces Dart, The Smallest Laptop Charger

FINsix Announces Dart, The Smallest Laptop ChargerFINsix has just introduced what they deem to be the smallest laptop charger in the world, which is known as the Dart. Dart is now available via a Kickstarter campaign, so if you want to see this dream being made real, then perhaps it is time to start making investments in the right place. Dart is said to be four times smaller and half a dozen times lighter compared to today’s laptop adapters, where it functions as a full-powered 65W AC adapter that will also boast of an integrated 2.1 amp USB port that is capable of simultaneous charging for smartphones and tablets alike.

First unveiled at CES 2014 earlier this year, having picked up its fair share of industry awards along the way, the Dart can now be pre-ordered on Kickstarter.com at $79 a pop – which is a good $40 more affordable compared to the recommended retail price. This tiny universal adapter will take up the space of a single wall socket, where you can choose from a range of bright colors. If all goes well, expect shipping of the Dart laptop charger to begin from November this year onward. Measuring a mere 2.5 cubic inches, the Dart tips the scales at just 60 grams, and comes with a 1 year warranty to boot. [Press Release]

Blicko Offers A Social Music Experience Unlike Any Other

Blicko, a Kickstarter project at the moment, happens to be a music playback system that can be accessed with a URL on virtually any device, making it a great way for you to enjoy your music in a social experience unlike any other. How does Blicko’s URL system work exactly? It ain’t too difficult, where those around it will use their smartphones to navigate to a certain URL address, where the users on two of the smartphones will then search and queue some songs, where the queue will then be populated on a third handset that also connects to the same URL. In a nutshell, the Blicko is a plug and play music device that can be remote controlled using any browser.

Micro 3D Printer Kickstarter Hits The $2 Million Mark In 3 Days

Micro 3D Printer Kickstarter Hits The $2 Million Mark In 3 DaysAbout a few days ago we reported on the Micro 3D printer that begun as a Kickstarter project. The project, according to its creators, managed to hit its original goal in about 11 minutes and if you thought that was impressive, the folks behind the printer have recently posted another update on the project where they are reporting that the Kickstarter project has since managed to hit the $2 million mark in 3 days!

We have to admit that this is extremely impressive and for those who are interested in getting their hands on the printers, you are still able to back the project which will nab you the device once the project has ended and production begins. However with so many orders, there is a chance that your order could be delayed.

However the folk behind the project have stated that with more money coming in, it allows them to hire more staff, which in turn could help make the process a lot smoother which hopefully will not result in any unnecessary delays. They aren’t making any promises but it seems that they are doing everything that they can to make sure this will not happen.

For those unfamiliar with the Micro 3D printer, the printer is basically a small 3D printer that will fit on your desk, unlike other 3D printers which tend to be pretty huge. In fact according to the design, it seems that the Micro is well, micro, and is actually about the size of a cat, so you can only imagine how small it is.

The Micro will also come with a more intuitive software interface that lets you download plans and print, and with a weight of around 1kg, you can bring it with you from the home to the office no problem. It’s hard to say why the Micro is doing as well it is, but we can’t wait for them to start shipping it out.
