Papercraft Crysis Nanosuit 2.0 is a True Work of Art

I’ve always been impressed by the things papercraft artists can pull off with simple paper, glue and an X-Acto knife. I’m particularly blown away by this paper model of the Nanosuit 2.0 from Crysis 2 and Crysis 3.

The model was created by Julius Perdana of Paper Replika, after initially building a 1/6th scale model of the Nanosuit a couple of years ago as a commission for Crytek.

Recently, Julius came across a Crysis 3 promotional image of the Nanosuit 2.0 equipped with a tactical bow, and decided to make an even more impressive version of the model, along with the bow.

The template for the model was drawn as a scalable vector image, with all of the details handdrawn by the artist. I can only imagine that means he could produce a life-size model using the same vector art if he had the time and inclination. You can check out more images of the Nanosuit 2.0 papercraft model over on Paper Replika, where you can also download the template and assembly instructions so you can assemble your own.

Crysis 3 interactive singleplayer demo video released

After having its screenshots of the game leaked earlier this week, we’ve now got more Crysis 3 for you gamers out there. EA and Crytek have just released an almost 19-minute long demo video showing off what the single player component of Crysis 3 is going to be like. Users choose whether they want to see the action carried out in stealth mode or armor mode. So for those of you who prefer to go in guns blazing can play the game differently to those who’d rather sneak around and avoid attention. As usual, the graphics are nothing short of impressive even though the video is made from pre-alpha footage of the game. We’ve embedded the video/demo above for your convenience. Check it out and let us know what you think.

New Crysis 3 screenshots leaked

Crysis 3Looking forward to Crysis 3? So are we, and to help quench your thirst this week, we’ve got some newly leaked screenshots of what the game is going to look like. The images were posted on the blog of a senior lighting artist at Crytek, though they’ve been removed since then. Fortunately nothing truly disappears on the internet and we can still see how the game is coming along so far and judging by what we’ve seen – the game looks gorgeous as ever.

It sure looks like Crytek really pulled out all the stops for this one; Crysis 3 definitely looks a lot better than any other first person shooter out there. Though the question of how well it can run on our computers is still up in the air. Anyway, hop along to Neogaf to check out the full set of leaked images, and pre-order the game today if you’re interested. 2013 can’t come soon enough.

Maingear Pulse 11 review: a small and surprisingly powerful gaming laptop

Maingear Pulse 11 review a small and suprisingly powerful gaming laptop

Gaming laptops are strange beasts. While they may have been lugged all the way to the LAN party, they aren’t too much fun to use on a plane. That was, until the advent of Alienware’s 11-inch M11x, which kept the fast internals at the expense of weight and battery life. When it was unceremoniously yanked by parent company Dell, it left a gap in the market for people who really did need a gaming laptop on the go.

Fortunately, Clevo stepped in with its W110ER, an 11-inch laptop that companies like Maingear and others have tweaked to sell as their own. Packing an Ivy Bridge CPU, NVIDIA’s Kepler-based GeForce GT 650M and the same 1366 x 768 display as the M11x, it’s obviously trying to step into Alienware’s shoes. So, is this the new standard-bearer for small-yet-powerful gaming laptops? Does it really blow us away with its power? Will you want to part with a minimum of $999 to get hold of one? Read on to find out.
