If you’re a web developer there is a good chance that you’ve had to mess around with a lot of CSS code. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to work with, but there are tools out there that try to guide you along the way. CSSDesk.com doesn’t provide any direct guidance, but it can help you quickly test out CSS expressions to see if they are doing what you expect them to be without constantly having to reload a page to have your change take effect.

You probably wouldn’t want to do an entire website design using CSSDesk, but it is great for fine-tuning individual objects. Things like buttons, boxes, and small sections of sites would definitely be the ideal uses of CSSDesk. There also isn’t anything on the site to distract you from what you’re working on, which means no ads and no unnecessary buttons or links. It’s just you and your code.

The other cool thing is that in a single click you can generate a URL that you can use to share the code with someone else. If you need help with your CSS code that feature could be extremely useful since there isn’t the hassle involved of having to create an account to share the code.

This video game inspired resume beats any resume that you have offered to potential employers. It is the work of designer Robby Leonardi, who wanted his C.V. to stand out from the crowd. He certainly accomplished that.

Robby created an interactive resume with a Super Mario Bros. sort of theme and it is amazing. It has four levels of awesomeness. This interactive resume is basically a miniature version of Robby as a Mario-type superhero character that runs through the levels, telling employers about his employment history, work experience and portfolio. As an added bonus, it shows off his HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery skills along the way.

Awesome resume. My Mario hat is off to you Robby. I would hire you in a heartbeat just to create cool stuff like this for my own personal amusement.

Adobe really wants web designers to kick things up a notch. Not satisfied with where Edge has gone so far, it just released a full-fledged Edge Tools & Services suite to cover the bases for polished desktop and mobile pages on most any modern platform. Motion tool Edge Animate (formerly Edge Preview), automated previewing tool Edge Inspect (formerly Shadow) and mobile app packager PhoneGap Build have all arrived in the suite as version 1.0 releases, and come with both Edge Web Fonts as well as TypeKit to spruce up text. A pair of pre-release utilities, Edge Code (Brackets) and Edge Reflow, are also joining the group to tackle the nitty-gritty of editing web code and layouts. Any of the apps will readily cooperate with third-party software, although they won’t always be cheap: while most of the Edge suite is free to use in at least a basic form as long as you have a Creative Cloud membership at any level, Edge Animate is only free during its initial run and should eventually cost either $15 per month or $499 in a one-time sale. For pros that want to burnish their corner of the web to a shine, the result just might be worth the expense.
