$150 Off Moto X Deal Goes Live Today, Again

$150 Off Moto X Deal Goes Live Today, Again

Motorola had previously announced that it would offer a deal on Cyber Monday in which it would shave off $150 of the price of the unlocked Moto X smartphone, even the developer editions. When Cyber Monday came, Motorola’s website couldn’t cope up with the surge in traffic which led to the servers crashing down. The company then apologized for the fiasco and said that it would offer the deal again, first on December 4th and again on December 9th. The deal goes lives once again today, and given how it sold out within eight minutes the last time around, you might want to be the first in the virtual line if you have any intention of picking up an unlocked Moto X for a steal.

The deal goes live at 12 p.m. EST, and will be available as long as stock lasts. The way this works is that Motorola is giving out promotional codes through the deal’s website. If you’re able to get your hands on a promo code, you will have one week to order a Moto X, the code is crucial to getting $150 off the price. That’s just about it. Those who want to get Motorola accessories for a 30 percent discount can use the “THANKS” promo code at checkout. As they say, the early bird gets the worm!

iOS Leads Android In Cyber Monday Online Shopping

iOS Leads Android In Cyber Monday Online Shopping

IBM recently released a report after tracking over 800 retail websites in the U.S. that iOS was far ahead of Android during the Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping weekend. During the weekend, traffic generated by iOS devices accounted for 28.2 percent of all online traffic as opposed to 11.4 percent contributed by Android. It turns out that iOS did much better during Cyber Monday as well. A report released by IBM earlier today reveals that iOS lead Android in online shopping during Cyber Monday 2013.

Over 14.5 percent of all online sales this Cyber Monday are accounted for by iOS devices, whereas Android managed to generate just over 2.6 percent of all online sales. The percentages boil down to each iOS and Android user spending $120.29 and $106.70 per order, respectively. The report also reveals that 31.7 percent of all online traffic on Cyber Monday was generated by mobile devices, which equals to a 45 percent year-over-year increase. Of the entire web traffic on Cyber Monday, iOS managed to grab 22.4 percent while Android only managed to grab 9.1 percent. 19.7 percent of all online traffic was accounted for by smartphones while tablet users brought in 11.5 percent, but purchase volume from tablet users overtook those from smartphone users. It doesn’t come as a surprise that online sales on Cyber Monday this year increased 20.6 percent as opposed to the same time last year, even online spending on Black Friday 2013 surged to some $1.2 billion. No total figure of money spent on online purchases this Cyber Monday has emerged just yet.

Moto X Cyber Monday Deal Crashes Motorola’s Website

Moto X Cyber Monday Deal Crashes Motorolas Website

The holiday weekend brought some amazing deals and discounts, retailers would no doubt have seen some of the busiest days of the entire year. The shopping frenzy culminates with Cyber Monday today, quite a lot of online retailers are running special promotions today on a wide variety of products. Last week Motorola announced that it is going to shave off $150 on all off contract Moto X variants purchased through the Moto X website. As it turns out, the surge of traffic on the website caused it to crash, thus halting the promotion which by the looks of things, a lot of people were waiting for.

Motorola confirmed through its Twitter account that the website is down due to the surge in traffic. The company says that it is “working quickly” to restore the website, as of now the off contract Moto X variants can not be ordered through the company’s website. When the website ultimately goes live again, anxious customers will be able to pick up a variant for $150 off the usual price, which means that the 16GB and 32GB models will be available for $350 and $400 respectively. We will update the post and let you know when Motorola gets the website up and running again.
