Nowadays, when you go see a big movie, you assume everything is going to be computer animation and greenscreen, and nothing is real. But a lot of the biggest, craziest movie stunts, past and present, have been entirely practical. Here are some of the most complicated stunt sequences that were created in reality.

The Dark Knight Rises wasn’t my favorite in the Nolan Batman series, but I still thought Bane was pretty bad-ass – even if it did sound like he was talking with marbles in his mouth most of the time. That scene when he blows up the football stadium is a classic, IMHO. Now, if you want to announce your evil plans just like Bane, you can, thanks to these new voice-changing Bane walkie-talkies.
You and your friend can each strap on the Bane masks, and a special voice-changer circuit will make you sound just like the Dark Knight’s hulking, if inarticulate nemesis. I’m not sure if you’ll be able to understand each other, but I suppose that’s part of the fun.
I have to say, Bane doesn’t look so tough when he only comes up to your navel. No word yet on pricing for the Bane walkie-talkies, but our pals over at ThinkGeek are hiding more details over in their bat-filled secret lair.

So last week, we saw how awesome dads could be. First, there was the dad who built his daughter her very own backyard roller coaster. Then there was the dad who turned his kid’s toy car into a real one. But moms can be awesome, too, and today we’ve got an example of one. Now what she did might not be something of epic proportions or mechanical in nature, but it’s a labor of love, just like what those dads did.
Redditor zacch wanted a pair of Batman Converse, but didn’t have the cash. So instead of buying one for him, his mom took one of his old pairs and painted all sorts of cool Batman stuff on them.
Not only do they look awesome, but they’re also one-of-a-kind, considering that his mom customized them and all.

When true Batman fans decide to tie the knot, they don’t do it in half-measures. Check out these classy, stunning gold and black wedding ideas. If you want to have a classy Batman wedding, there are some good ideas here, collected by the guys over at When Geeks Wed.
You’ve got your invitations with gold batarangs, your black wedding dress with gold utility belt like belt etc. It’s all gold and black using the Batman costume from the movies as inspiration. The Batsignal could be used to signal the bride and groom to walk down the aisle. And I would also suggest that the ring bearer look like Jim Gordon or Robin.

I wasn’t aware of the fact myself, but apparently Jaeger-LeCoultre watches have had cameos as part of Bruce Wayne’s wardrobe in several Batman films through the years. It makes sense. Only the best for Bruce Wayne. And money is no object for Gotham’s leading billionaire. Batman’s winged cape is essential to his capturing villains. It allows him to scout out Gotham city from skyscrapers and glide to lower distances at a high speed. Everyone whose played Batman Arkham City has definitely enjoyed the sensation of flying with Batman before. Unfortunately, Batman fans will have to face a reality today that his cape is actually a death trap rather than a flying aid. According to physicists at the University of Leicester, the impact of Batman hitting the ground after using his cape would be equivalent to being hit by a car at 50 mph. (more…)
