Darksiders 3 Not Planned To Be Released In 2013

Nordic Games was announced to be the winner of THQ’s auction of its popular game franchises such as Darksiders, Red Faction and MX vs ATV. And as such, the company is already speaking out in regards to one of its newly acquired properties, namely Darksiders.

Nordic Games CEO Lars Wingefors spoke with Game Informer in regards to the future of the Darksiders franchise saying they’ll begin speaking with partners to discuss where they’ll take it. “Officially, we haven’t talked to any partners. My colleagues in Austria are handling the business development and are handling all those contacts. We’ll be sitting down, I think, in the next week to discuss all those options,” Wingefors said. “It takes a very long time to make games. You won’t see a new Darksiders this year. I don’t believe in bringing out a s***** sequel.” (more…)

Darksiders, Red Faction Picked Up By Nordic Games From THQ Auction

Darksiders, Red Faction Picked Up By Nordic Games From THQ Auction

It was December 2012 when THQ filed for bankruptcy, which ultimately led to the publisher disbanding and selling off its assets. The majority of their assets were sold to various publishers, but one of the company’s most recently popular developer and their IP weren’t announced to have been purchased by anyone. Of course, we’re talking about Vigil Games and their Darksiders franchise. But this week, a European publisher called Nordic Games made shockwaves across the gaming world as they were announced to be the winners of the Darksiders franchise.

Darksiders wasn’t the only IP Nordic Games was able to secure from THQ as Red Faction and MX vs ATV were also picked up for a total of $4.9 million. Whether or not Nordic Games will be able to take each of these great series of games where they need to be is certainly yet to be seen, but with a rather long history of publishing various titles, we’re sure Darksiders and THQ’s other titles are certainly in good hands.

Humble Bundle teams with THQ for Darksiders, Metro 2033, Saints Row The Third on the cheap

THQ may not be an “indie” or tied to Android, but the ailing game publisher is teaming with the much beloved Humble Bundle folks to offer a flexibly priced batch of great THQ games. Zelda-alike Darksiders, spooky shooter Metro 2033, destruction sandbox Red Faction: Armageddon, and the entire Company of Heroes pack highlight the bundle’s standards, while 2011’s greatest Kanye simulator, Saints Row: The Third, comes with the rest should you choose to spend over the average payment price (currently around $5). You’ll have to drop at least $1 for Steam keys to the main titles, but that’ll also net you soundtracks to those main titles as well — sadly, the offer is only available on PC. You’ve got two weeks to make your decision, though we’d call this a no brainer.
