Star Wars Pinball: Darth Vader Table Looks Irresistable

The Dark Lord of the Sith is one of the more imposing villains in movies, and the folks over at Zen Studios have decided to pay tribute to this all round ass kicker thanks to a special Darth Vader tribute pinball table which is set to roll out sometime next week on the PlayStation Store both the for PS3 and PS Vita (cross buy) in the new Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force pack. You could, of course, perform a download of the tables in Zen Pinball 2, or to opt for it in the standalone Star Wars game for $9.99 a pop.

This is the time to somewhat get into Lord Vader’s “brain”, so to speak, as you get to find yourself immersed in some of the most notable moments in his life. Of course, what is the whole point of a Star Wars game if there were no creative usage of the many lines that we love to hear over and over again? In here, you get to enjoy some of Vader’s most memorable quotes and scenes from the Star Wars films, where it delivers an authentic Darth Vader experience, with the whole table being a highly stylized Darth Vader atmosphere that will boast of iconic lines from the films and Darth Vader’s Meditation pod.

    Star Wars Darth Vader ViewMaster

vader-viewfinderIt does seem to me as though there are some franchises that simply cannot exhaust its revenue stream, simply because it is way too big to fail, and there is a new fan that is “born” every single minute. Star Wars is definitely one of them, and who thought that all the way back in 1977 when the movie was first released, it would have made such an impact in many cultures and the world of sci-fi movies? Well, still going strong after all this while thanks to a savvy marketing plan, ThinkGeek has come up with the $19.99 Star Wars Darth Vader ViewMaster which will certainly offer a blast from the past so that today’s kids will be able to enjoy what used to entertain you before for countless hours on end, before the advent of the likes of the Game Boy.

The Star Wars Darth Vader ViewMaster comes with a viewer and 3 reels, and best of all is, just in case someone starts to rib you about purchasing bootleg products, you can proudly tell them off that this is an officially licensed Star Wars merchandise. Despite arriving with just three reels, it will be good enough to convey a story from 21 different images, and to make things all the more foreboding, it comes with a Vader-themed case to stash those reels away. In addition, those reels from the past are also compatible with all View-Master viewers, so assuming you can track them down with a tracker droid, you would be able to show off to the younger generation proudly of your View-Master adventures when you were a wee lad.

Tank Vader: The Ultimate Power in the Universe

Darth Vader. He’s one of the best parts of the original Star Wars saga. What if you could turn him into a badass Sith tank and let him loose on your enemy?
    Vader tank
That would be amazing. Tank Vader would just decimate whole armies and lay waste to everything in it’s path. The Vader tank is the work of Gabriel Dishaw. It is a miniature tank with the head of the Lord of the Sith riding atop it, much like Danny Trejo’s head on that turtle in Breaking Bad.

    Vader tank1
It is made from all kinds of recycled parts: a toy tank, computers, typewriters, adding machines, airplane parts and vintage model pieces.

You can buy Tank Vader from Gabriel’s site for $1000(USD). Sadly my pockets are empty or else I would consider it. It just looks amazing!

German Fans Build Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter

This is the most incredible replica of Vader’s TIE Fighter that I have ever seen. It was made by a team of Germans working their butts off, who go by the name of Project X1 Props. Props to them all the way!

    tie fighter

These amazing geniuses built this incredible 1:2 scale replica of The Sith Lord’s TIE Fighter. This is German engineering at its finest. How would you like to have this thing parked in your garage? You’d have to fix it up to look like the Death Star trench of course. Or a hangar bay.

It cost about $20,000(USD) to make and took about 1,000 man hours. It will be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration Europe on July 26th in Messe Essen, Germany.

Darth Vader Bottle Opener, Force Choke Beer Caps Off

I’ve flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I’ve seen a lot of strange stuff, but I’ve never seen anything to make me believe that there’s one all-powerful bottle opener that can open anything. Until now.

    vader bottle opener

This Darth Vader bottle opener uses the force (applied by your hand muscles) to open your drinks. Make sure that when you open your bottle you always say “You have failed me for the last time!” and force choke that bottle cap off.

You can pre-order it now from Entertainment Earth for $15.99(USD) and it will be released in January 2014. Best bottle opener ever? At least until they release the Rancor.

Pocky Lightsabers: An Elegant Candy for a More Civilized Age

Whether you’re on the Light or Dark Side of the Force, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Candy is good. Now, thanks to the confectionery makers of Japan, you can have your lightsaber and eat it too.

These new Pocky stick candies from Glico measure 8 inches-long, so they’re more like breadsticks than candies. They’re available in a three flavors to satisfy your sweet tooth, including Yoda’s green tea, Sith strawberry and Goofy Skywalker grape.

Darth Vader Mailbox: The Dark Side of the Post Office

Witness the true power of the Dark Side of the Force with this Darth Vader mailbox. It’s the perfect place for the delivery of the Death Star plans after recovering them from the Rebels.

Star Wars Large Darth Vader Glitter Light

Assuming the Dark Lord of the Sith is one mean character who is just less forgiving than the Emperor himself, it would still be out of character to see Darth Vader’s room sport the £19.95 Star Wars Large Darth Vader Glitter Light. After all, this is a pretty self descriptive device, where it was specially designed to imitate the dreaded lightsaber, a weapon of choice for Jedis as well as Sith alike during times when folks were more civilized.

Of course, you will not find some sort of mystic crystals powering the Star Wars Large Darth Vader Glitter Light, but rather, good old electricity that has coursed through the wire to power it up. It will definitely have a far lower energy cost compared to the Death Star, and your little one (or even you) can wistfully dream up of those classic Jedi-Sith battles on the numerous planet systems that are all part of Star Wars folklore.

Darth Vader Beer Fridge: Use the Frost, Luke!

Behold the power of the Dark Side. I always knew that Darth Vader had a cold heart and now he is putting it to good use keeping beer and booze chilled. He is basically a caped refrigerator and that’s a far better trick than being good with a lightsaber or Force-choking some guy.

    darth vader fridge 1

This Darth Vader fridge is from artist Tom Sachs, who also made this. I always suspected that this was what the Emperor turned Anakin into, so that he could have a walking beer fridge and bring the party with him wherever he goes.

This also makes a duel with Vader a real treat. Just slice him with your lightsaber and put your mouth under the jettisoning stream of beer.

Champagne Cork Darth Vader: Let’s Toast to the Dark Side

The thing I love about the intersection of geekdom and art is that we end up with some really ingenious and non-traditional mediums for creativity. For example, what was once an innocent champagne cork has been transformed into the ultimate evil – Darth Vader.

DIYer SJ Roth took an ordinary cork and embellished it with markers, clay, fabric, foam rubber, and even a little LED lightsaber to create the cutest little Vader you’ll see today.
