It does seem to me as though there are some franchises that simply cannot exhaust its revenue stream, simply because it is way too big to fail, and there is a new fan that is “born” every single minute. Star Wars is definitely one of them, and who thought that all the way back in 1977 when the movie was first released, it would have made such an impact in many cultures and the world of sci-fi movies? Well, still going strong after all this while thanks to a savvy marketing plan, ThinkGeek has come up with the $19.99 Star Wars Darth Vader ViewMaster which will certainly offer a blast from the past so that today’s kids will be able to enjoy what used to entertain you before for countless hours on end, before the advent of the likes of the Game Boy.

The Star Wars Darth Vader ViewMaster comes with a viewer and 3 reels, and best of all is, just in case someone starts to rib you about purchasing bootleg products, you can proudly tell them off that this is an officially licensed Star Wars merchandise. Despite arriving with just three reels, it will be good enough to convey a story from 21 different images, and to make things all the more foreboding, it comes with a Vader-themed case to stash those reels away. In addition, those reels from the past are also compatible with all View-Master viewers, so assuming you can track them down with a tracker droid, you would be able to show off to the younger generation proudly of your View-Master adventures when you were a wee lad.

This is the most incredible replica of Vader’s TIE Fighter that I have ever seen. It was made by a team of Germans working their butts off, who go by the name of Project X1 Props. Props to them all the way!

These amazing geniuses built this incredible 1:2 scale replica of The Sith Lord’s TIE Fighter. This is German engineering at its finest. How would you like to have this thing parked in your garage? You’d have to fix it up to look like the Death Star trench of course. Or a hangar bay.

It cost about $20,000(USD) to make and took about 1,000 man hours. It will be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration Europe on July 26th in Messe Essen, Germany.

Whether you’re on the Light or Dark Side of the Force, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Candy is good. Now, thanks to the confectionery makers of Japan, you can have your lightsaber and eat it too.

These new Pocky stick candies from Glico measure 8 inches-long, so they’re more like breadsticks than candies. They’re available in a three flavors to satisfy your sweet tooth, including Yoda’s green tea, Sith strawberry and Goofy Skywalker grape.

While they’re not officially available here in the states, you can find packs available for sale up on eBay for around $8 a box.

Glico is also offering a variety of other Star Wars inspired foodstuffs including some sort of Yoda and Darth Vader rice dishes:

Assuming the Dark Lord of the Sith is one mean character who is just less forgiving than the Emperor himself, it would still be out of character to see Darth Vader’s room sport the £19.95 Star Wars Large Darth Vader Glitter Light. After all, this is a pretty self descriptive device, where it was specially designed to imitate the dreaded lightsaber, a weapon of choice for Jedis as well as Sith alike during times when folks were more civilized.

Of course, you will not find some sort of mystic crystals powering the Star Wars Large Darth Vader Glitter Light, but rather, good old electricity that has coursed through the wire to power it up. It will definitely have a far lower energy cost compared to the Death Star, and your little one (or even you) can wistfully dream up of those classic Jedi-Sith battles on the numerous planet systems that are all part of Star Wars folklore.

The thing I love about the intersection of geekdom and art is that we end up with some really ingenious and non-traditional mediums for creativity. For example, what was once an innocent champagne cork has been transformed into the ultimate evil – Darth Vader.

DIYer SJ Roth took an ordinary cork and embellished it with markers, clay, fabric, foam rubber, and even a little LED lightsaber to create the cutest little Vader you’ll see today.
