Skyrim 1.7 beta now available on Steam, could Dawnguard for PC be coming soon?

It has almost been a month since Skyrim: Dawnguard was released on the Xbox 360 where it enjoyed a 30-day period of exclusivity before it made its way onto other platforms, which is why we can’t say we’re too surprised to learn that Bethesda has rolled out the 1.7 beta patch for Skyrim on the PC via Steam. This has led to some speculating that it could be the precursor to Dawnguard finally launching on the PC. The 1.7 patch is also expected to roll out to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 “as soon as possible”, according to Bethesda’s blog. No word if 1.7 will also be the precursor to Dawnguard for the PlayStation 3, but as far as Xbox gamers are concerned, patch 1.7 will come with some Kinect fixes along with additional support for French, German, Italian and Spanish gamers who wish to get in on the Kinect-enabled dragon speak commands for both Skyrim and Dawnguard. So, who else is excited?

Skyrim: Dawnguard released

As promised, Skyrim: Dawnguard is finally out, where you are able to get it from Xbox LIVE for 1,600 Microsoft Points. The video above shows you how you are able to access the new quest, and for those who are not in the know, Dawnguard holds the distinction of being the first official add-on for Skyrim, an RPG which has spawned many a meme – in particular, references to taking it to the knee. This particular expansion will expand the story of the Skyrim universe further, where Vam Harkon makes a return to power as he attempts to wield the Elder Scrolls in order to “end the sun itself”. No idea on what he hopes to achieve by snuffing out something as large as a sun though, it would clearly make Hitler or Stalin look like sane people when compared to him. Have you given Skyrim: Dawnguard a go, or do you have the intention of doing so?
