Are you looking forward to the latest DLC for Dead Rising 3, a game which was actually banned over in Germany? Well, the latest update that weighs in at a whopping 13GB, is said to contain a range of performance and stability upgrades, not to mention letting gamers enjoy a host of improvements. Microsoft did claim that this particular update would introduce “a host of improvements to single-player and co-op gameplay, including a variety of performance and stability upgrades, and fixes for issues related to achievements, UI updates, SmartGlass and more.”

Microsoft has a bevy of titles that they have already lined up for the roll out of its Xbox One console, but folks who happen to reside in Germany will have to make do without Dead Rising 3. There is a good reason behind that of course, as Germany’s BPjM (Bundeprüfstelle für jugendgefährende Medien), which is better known as the Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons which has banned the sale of Capcom’s Dead Rising 3.

It is definitely not a huge shock to the ears of gamers in that part of the world, since the previous two titles in the Dead Rising series also “suffered” from a similar decision in Germany. Microsoft is no doubt disappointed with this particular decision, but they should have gotten used to that by now. After all, the success of the Xbox One in Germany certainly should not hinge on just the sales figures of one particular title, right? In a nutshell, the BPjM panel normally lays the banhammer down on both console and PC games that they feel would promote violence against humans or other kinds of human-like characters, zombies included.

Other major games that had undergone the banhammer treatment include Left 4 Dead 2 and Scarface: The World is Yours. A reversal of such situations is not impossible, however, so keep your fingers crossed if you’re living in Germany!
