Level Three Dead Space Costume Ready to Take on Necromorph Cosplayers

The suits that Isaac wears in the Dead Space games are awesome. If only we had a suit like one of those in real life. Well, we do. Well, Steven K Smith has one – and we’re jealous.

This is the Level 3 suit from Dead Space. At first I thought these images were renders from the game, but nope, these are actual photos of the completed rig and helmet. This suit is so badass. Now I want one soooo bad.

The detail is just mind blowing. I don’t know about you, but I’d love to suit up in this rig and kill some mutants.

Dead Space Motorcycle Helmet Lets You Hide Your Emotions Like Isaac Clarke

There’s good news and bad news about this helmet. The good news is that this custom Dead Space inspired motorcycle helmet is all kinds of awesome. The bad news is that you know it will get scratched up as you battle necromorphs in it. But hey, at least you can enjoy it while it lasts.

If you have to protect your head, (and it really is a good idea) you might as well do it in style. This helmet comes from Xtreme Kreations and it looks so good you will think you are in-game.

You have to love those painted blue light effects and it’s so shiny. So so shiny. Can you imagine this with a matching bike? That, I would pay to see.

Dead Space Plasma Cutter Replica Uses Real Lasers to Slice Through Alien Limbs

We’ve seen some Dead Space Plasma Cutters before – even some with real lasers, but hey, lasers are always cool, so check this one out and be very impressed. The craftmanship and attention to detail here is simply stunning.

It was made by Patrick Priebe of Laser Gadgets. This weapon can actually do some serious damage, which is great if you find yourself on a derelict spaceship full of killer aliens.

Just like the video game gun it can go from vertical to horizontal and back again and as shown in the video, it can burn things of course.  It’s powered by three bright 30mW green lasers for aiming, and a 1.5W blue laser for burning stuff. While Patrick doesn’t offer plans or a build guide for his Plasma Cutter, he will build and sell you one if you have enough money.

Dead Space 3 Plasma Cutter Working Replica Can Fire Real Lasers

EA’s Dead Space 3 may have come and gone, but one thing fans of the series will never forget is just how awesome the Plasma Cutter is as it can effectively cut up a necromorpth with very little effort. That’s why we absolutely had to feature Patrick Priebe’s working replica of Dead Space’s Plasma Cutter.

Priebe’s Plasma Cutter working replica uses a total of five laser beams – three green lasers to aim and two blue, 1,500 milliwatt beams to burn stuff with. It took Priebe a total of 200 hours to build his Plasma Cutter, and as you can see in the video above, it can shift between horizontal and vertical orientations and can even be reloaded with energy packs. The blue 1,500 milliwatt beam can be seen burning holes in a piece of wood and through a plastic bag, although we’re sure it isn’t strong enough to do any serious damage to a person.

Dead Space 3 Poor Sales Leads To Dead Space 4 Cancellation [Rumor] [UPDATED]

Dead Space 3 Poor Sales Leads To Dead Space 4 Cancellation [Rumor] [UPDATED]

EA’s Dead Space 3 was just released a few weeks ago to the delight of horror-game fans as the new title removed the strange multiplayer modes found in Dead Space 2, replacing it with a co-op mode. As of this writing, the game is currently rated between 75 – 80 on Metacritic, which means it should be considered a good game. Unfortunately, EA is reportedly killing the franchise today.

According to a source familiar with Dead Space 4 speaking to VideoGamer.com, the development for the game was stopped by EA due to poor sales of Dead Space 3. The game was already in pre-production at Visceral Games and Visceral Montreal, the latter was reportedly closed due to a company restructuring.

At this point, this is purely hearsay as no official word has come from EA announcing either the retirement of the Dead Space series or the shuttering of Visceral Montreal. Considering Dead Space 3 teased a sequel in its post-game credits sequence, we’d find it hard to believe the company would go through the trouble of teasing fans in order to cancel its follow-up game weeks after its release.

[Update: EA has responded to today’s rumor with the following statement: “While we have not announced sales for Dead Space 3, we are proud of the game and the franchise remains an important IP to EA.”]

Dead Space 3 Cheat Allows One To Obtain Items For Free

Dead Space 3 Cheat Allows One To Obtain Items For FreeThey say that there is no free lunch in the world, and perhaps that is true if everyone were to be straight as an arrow. Dead Space 3, a game that is extremely popular, seems to be suffering from an in-game exploit that allows cheaters to get hold of in-game items without having to fork out a single cent for it, virtual or otherwise. This particular “cheat” could eventually affect EA’s bottom line, considering how they have already introduced a system which will charge users cash should they want additional equipment.

Of course, there are some gamers who are far from happy with the in-game purchase model, considering how the title itself would have already burned a £40 hole in their pockets. EA is working on an update so that the “cheat” or exploit can no longer be used, and we do hope that this particular update would be released sooner rather than later. After all, this action horror 3rd person shooter title might horrify EA executives as gamers decide to leave the game in droves due to such an exploit.

Dead Space 3 will have co-op mode

Dead Space 3We all know that Dead Space has been very well-received due to its spine-tingling fear factor but apparently for the same reason it’s not doing well enough with most of the mainstream gaming audience – at least according to what EA discovered with its research. It seems that people have been asking for a way to play the game with friends because it was too scary and it looks like EA is going to deliver with Dead Space 3. EA claims that Dead Space 3 is “no less scary” and “true to its roots” – so you can expect it to be just as terrifying as the previous two games, but now you have the option of playing it with a friend to share some of the tension.

EA hopes that Dead Space 3 will turn the Dead Space franchise into one of its biggest sellers – by making the upcoming game more accessible to a wider audience, I guess it will help it reach the goal. What do you think of co-op in Dead Space 3? Will it make you more likely to check out the game if you haven’t played the previous two before?
