Hasta La Gadget!

There’s a lot of Lego love at Gizmodo. There’s a lot of Star Wars love here, too. And when the two things come together, we can’t help but rejoice. I think Star Wars Lego is one of the smartest and coolest things Lego has ever done. Sure beats the Space Shuttle and Wild West fort I had when I was a kid. Although, it definitely doesn’t beat the minifig cowboy astronauts. Honestly, can anything really? I’m very impressed with Legos these days. They’ve stepped up their game with amazing things, but sadly I don’t actually own any Legos. The Star Wars Republic Frigate might be the nerdy cousin of awesome Star Wars ships, but this version is 30% off, so maybe it’s still a place to start. More »

Ah, the board game party. One of life’s most fulfilling evenings. Gathering together with your friends to really liven up your night with a little Trivia Pursuit and SceneIt! Maybe some Dungeons and Dragons or Magic: The Gathering for the geekier among you. Maybe that’s not your kinda party, though. Maybe you need a little more action in your life. Maybe you want to feel the excitement physically. Maybe you want to hurt the ones you love. Well, then I think I found your next party game. This game doesn’t test your wits or how much you happen to know about the Belarus national anthem. This game is all about reflexes. And when you don’t win, you lose big. More official details are emerging from Beats Electronics’ acquisition of MOG, and they paint a considerably messier picture of the deal than we saw just a day ago. HTC (which has a big stake in Beats) has confirmed that the move into streaming music was worth $14 million — not a whole lot considering that MOG had raised $33 million through its entire independent lifetime. The low price might come as the result of Beats being very surgical with its deal. The Jimmy Iovine- and Dr. Dre-founded outfit is taking control of the core audio service as a separately-managed company, while the ad and music blog components are mostly left untouched. MOG’s loss of independence is coming on a very ignominious note as a result, but it could be good news for subscribers anxious about the service’s future as well as HTC phone owners wondering just where Sense UI’s Beats integration might go next.

I bought the iPhone 4 when it first came out. I bought the first black case I could find. I stuck it on there, and I’ve never taken it off. The case to my phone isn’t important to me, but it seems to be important to a lot of people as the iPhone Accessories industry is a pretty big booming business.
