Police Box Kit Makes Your Fridge Cooler on the Outside

Doctor Who fans may remember this picture of a refrigerator that’s been modified to look like the TARDIS, or at least a traditional British police box. It turns out that the people who made that fridge are selling kits so you can have your own TARDIS fridge at home too.

The kit started out as a pet project of Joy Alyssa Day and B.E. Johnson. Joy was a bit disappointed when she found out that the image of her customized fridge went viral but she and B.E. were barely credited. But she also noticed that many people were asking where they could buy the fridge, so the couple made the next best thing. You can order the kit from Joy and B.E.’s website.

The kits sell for $185 (USD) and can be customized according to the dimensions of your fridge. Joy and B.E. can also include a tiny door for your fridge’s ice maker if it has one – it’s the one with the “Pull to Open” phrase on the fridge door. Best of all, they can also add a sound module that can be programmed to play sound effects when the fridge doors open. I guess we all know what sound effects you want to have on there.

Lazerwood MacBook Pro Keycaps Will Give You Wood

I’ve always rather liked the keys that Apple has been using on their keyboards over the last several years. While they’re not as thick and clicky as an old school IBM keyboard, I still find myself typing very quickly and comfortably on Apple’s keyboards. While the keys themselves are very practical and minimal, I wouldn’t mind if they were even more stylish and tactile. That’s why I’m excited by the design of these wooden key covers for MacBook keyboards.

They’re made by Lazerwood Industries, and laser-cut from actual walnut or cherry wood. The keys even have laser-engraved letters on them, so you can feel them with your fingertips. Each key has a thin layer of adhesive on back that’s strong enough to hold them in place, but removeable if you choose to take them off down the road. You’ll need to be very patient installing them, but the end result is clearly worth the effort.

The wooden covers are still thin enough to not interfere with closing the lid of the MacBook Pro, and they just look awesome when in place. You can pick up a set of Lazerwood keys for $40(USD).

For those of you with the Apple Wireless Keyboard, there’s also a version available for you guys.

Marvel Superhero Family Decals: Avengers (and X-Man) on Board

Whether your preferred mode of transportation is a car, truck, motorcycle, moped, Segway, bicycle, unicycle, skateboard, or even an invisible jet plane, comic book fans will want to pimp out their rides with these Marvel Family Car Decals.

These small vinyl stickers come with images of Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine and Spider-Man, along with their family personas of Mom, Dad, Daughter, Son, Dog and Cat. Since they come with 2 of each character, you’ll even be able to represent a family of 10 (assuming 2 of each type of person – that’s more Moms and Dads than most of us have, but possibly fewer cats.)

Mix and match ‘em to assemble your own superhero league. The full set of decals is available over at ThinkGeek for just $14.99(USD). Now stop asking where The Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Nick Fury and that guy with the bow and arrow are. You’re not getting them. Personally, I’m waiting  for a set with Magneto, Loki, Green Goblin, Red Skull and Doctor Doom’s families.

Wallbrights: A Thousand Decals in One

We’ve featured a number of awesome geeky wall decals and posters, but if you want to see something new everyday you might want to help Wallbrights become a real product. It’s a modular stick-on multicolored lighting solution that can be controlled via an app.

The concept involves small strips or hexagons that house diffused LEDs. The modules are attached to each other via male and female connectors. The idea is to piece together as many modules as you want, with one module close to a power outlet so you can connect it to its power adapter, which also serves as a Bluetooth receiver. You can then toggle the lights on or off or change their colors using an app from a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device.

Quirky is currently conducting a survey to determine the marketability of Wallbrights. I think it’s a really cool concept, although it would be better if they could also be used to display pictures or messages.

Fighting Game Decals + Wall: Super Combo Finish

After wowing us with his fake fireplace and fake secret passage decals, James Bit can now turn your walls into virtual arenas with these fighting game decals. Each set comes with life bar or hit point indicators and classic fighting game terms like KO, Player 1, Player 2 and more.

The decals are also removable and reusable, so you can actually adjust your life bar as necessary.

You can get the wall decals from James Bit’s Etsy store for $48 (USD). They’re nice, but I think it would have been more awesome if he used the font and life bar from Street Fighter II. Come to think of it, it would be neat to have huge wallpapers of the stages from the game.

Star Trek Fatheads Put Sci-Fi Icons on Your Wall

Star Trek purists might not appreciate the fact that I never liked the original series. I liked the original films well enough, but the original TV show was super cheesy in my opinion. I was a huge fan of The Next Generation and him firmly in camp Picard when it comes to choosing sides.

Fathead has been making life-sized vinyl stickers to decorate your walls of athletes, cars, and all sorts of other things for a long time. The company has announced it is now offering Star Trek fatheads with characters and graphics from the original series and TNG.

Whichever Captain you prefer, you’ll be able to choose between a life-size Kirk or Picard. It’s interesting to note that Kirk is only 5′-11″ tall while Jean-Luc is 6-4″ tall – a good 6 inches taller than Patrick Stewart is in real life. Though to be fair, Kirk is slightly kneeling down in his decal.

The series also includes Mr. Spock, the Enterprise from the original series, and logos from the original series. TNG fans can also get commander William T. Riker, Lieutenant Commander Data, Lieutenant Worf, as well as their updated Enterprise. Voyager, DS9 and Enterprise fans are out of luck for now though. Prices for the decals range from $39.99 for a basic starfleet logo up to $99.99 for the characters and ships.

Secret Passage Floor Decal Will Take You to a World of Pain if You Try to Enter

From the store that brought us the Zelda fireplace art comes another fake retro graphic. Add 18 square inches of mystery to your floor with the  Secret Passage decal. It’s also perfect for hiding actual secret passages. No one would think of looking under it right? Except for me. *cue thunderstorm and diabolical laughter*

Although a handful of old video games did portray stairs this way – it was either this or a miniature set of stairs – I’m not sure if these particular graphics are also from Zelda.

You can order the Secret Passage floor decal from James Bit Originals for $35 (USD). I actually saw a rug version of this idea, though I don’t know if that one’s for sale or if it’s even real.
