Sitting is fantastic, but benches are boring. Imagine if the world was just littered with hammocks and swings for your own extravagant public lounging pleasure. These clever transforming swings could make that a blissfully lazy reality.
Very few people have ever stepped foot on a boat made by yacht design studio Wally—builder of the fastest yachts on the planet—and even fewer have stepped foot inside their loud, hot workshop in Monte Carlo. British photographer Benedict Redgrove is one of them. Here’s what a $33 million yacht looks like before the paint job and leather.
Oh Wall-E, our adorable reminder that our current path on technology will lead to environmental devastation and the end of useful humanity. In maybe our last great act as a species on Earth, a team of geniuses led by Michael McMaster has built a real-life, RC Wall-E accurate to the most painstaking details.
JetBlue has a new design scheme for their Airbus A321s, used on transcontinental flights. In addition to the usual 143 economy seats, these planes will have actual "class" seating for the first time with 16 business class seats and four business class "suites." Apparently Jetblue had to file a special request with the FAA for business class.
When you’re moving and you have a lot of IKEA furniture, you know what you should do. You should take it apart, transport it and then put it back together on the other end. You know this. You consider this. And then you create a last minute flash sale on Craig’s List, get whatever money you can from all that MALM, and re-buy down the line. Chairigami is trying to end this cycle.
There are plenty of electric bikes around, and if you use one as a mode of transportation, it’s nice to have that little extra boost to get you home just a little faster. Also, cruising along one one is pretty nice.
The Cykno e-bike has a distinctive look and combines elements of a moped, a mountain bike and an electric bike. Its frame has been accented with leather, and it has a Swedish central motor mounted on a carbon fiber cradle. The saddle is suspended on a stainless steel high-resistance foil. Range for the battery is approximately 60 km (~37 miles) on a 4 hour charge, and the bike offers integrated disc brakes.
The bike also offers unique, wide wheel spokes which create some neat effects as they spin:
The Cykno electric bicycle isn’t yet available, but when you eventually ride one, you’ll be ready to put the finishing touch on all of that Steampunk cosplay that you’ve been putting off.
There are lots of interactions and fields around us all the time that we can’t see

Electric vehicles have come a long way from their humble beginnings, and this new BMW looks like a good combination between performance and economy. While it’s design does look a bit bulbous to me, its capabilities sound like they’re more than enough to make up for that.
The BMW i3 is a rear-wheel drive EV with four seats. The engine produces 170 hp and it has an 80 to 100-mile range on a single charge, which will work for most people’s daily commute and more. It accelerates from 0 to 60 in 7 seconds. BMW have combined carbon fiber and plastic to make the passenger compartment lighter than other cars, and it’s still supposed to be stronger than steel. It weighs only 2,700 lbs.
One of the available options is a gas generator for people worried about running out power on long trips. You can get it for $41,350 in spring 2014.

Who doesn’t like having a watch that looks like it’s from the future? Well I sure would like to have one, and I have to say that the Kisai Neutron from Tokyoflash would be perfect for humans and Cylons alike.
The Tokyoflash Kisai Neutron has a metal grille over some LED light bars that curve around your wrist. The time is displayed by flashing digits, which makes it easily readable by anyone. You can view time either by watching the digits scroll or fade in. The watch is motion sensitive, so you just need to give it a shake to show the time. You can also choose to have it always on, or light up upon the touch of a button.
The Kisai Neutron watch sells for $169(USD) and is powered by a USB-rechargeable battery. It comes in black, gold, or gunmetal with white, blue, or red LEDs.
