My love for on-screen cats began when I discovered the Neko cat screenmate almost a decade and a half ago. I know they’re not the same cat, but when I saw this Nyan cat necklace, I was immediately reminded of Neko. (If my memory serves me right, I was running Windows ’95 at the time. Talk about ancient.)

Enough nostalgia, though, because this awesome Nyan cat necklace calls for your attention. Over the last 18 months, the Nyan cat has spawned a meme and thousands of video, photos, and related art, this necklace included.

The Nyan necklace was handmade by Olga of OlechckaDesign using polymer clay, which was then attached to a 12-inch chain so you can show your love for the Nyan cat loud and proud.

The necklace is up for sale on OlechckaDesign’s Etsy shop for $25 (USD).

Some people resort to delivering blows when they can’t agree with someone. Maybe that would be excusable if you were a kid (even though it still wouldn’t be right), but it’s beyond embarrassing to be a fully-grown adult who gets into fistfights on a regular basis just because you can’t make your point across without having to resort to force.

This is where mediation should come in. And what better way to do these sessions than in the Mediation Chair?

It looks pretty confusing at first, but at second glance, you’ll see that there are actually three seats positioned side-by-side. One for you, one for the mediator in the middle (facing the other way), and one for the other party.

Designer Peter Sas explains: “The chair is highly functional, and clearly designed with Rietveld’s archetype in mind. The way you in which you sit is also really important. You always sit constrained in a group discussion. The chair, because of its zigzag construction, forces you to always look straight ahead and you can always get up and walk away. That gives the feeling of freedom.”

The bit about being able to walk away is pretty clever, don’t you think?

I was always pretty good at the Tony Hawk: Pro Skater games, pulling off mad combo moves thanks to generous use of manuals between tricks. Unfortunately, the second I hop on a real skateboard, forget about it. A 200-pound guy falling face-first off a skateboard isn’t a pretty sight (thought it could be popular on YouTube.) For those of you who’d rather keep the skate trucks off the ground, maybe you should go for one of these instead.

This whimsical skateboard ceiling lamp is actually designed for a kid’s room, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for anyone into ‘boarding. Though with its thin 24″ acrylic deck and narrow aircraft cables suspending it from its chrome canopy, I wouldn’t recommend trying to hop on it, unless you’re a hamster – or maybe a kitten. A skateboarding cat – now that’s something I’d like to see. Oh, Internet.
