The World’s Tallest Five-Story Shower Fountain Makes a Leaking Roof Beautiful [Video]

Located at the Lotte Department Store in Busan—the second largest city in South Korea—this mesmerizing fountain actually plummets five stories from the ceiling. And as the water drops tumble towards a small pool on the ground, they create complex designs and even spell out words like “Busan” and “Lotte.” The ten minute show, which runs at the top of every hour, could give the waterworks at the Bellagio in Las Vegas a run for its money. eSSage Gives You a Massage, Without the Masseuse

Nothing beats getting a massage after a long, hard day at work. But if you’re too beat to even drive to your favorite spa or call for home service, then there’s another alternative (provided it gets manufactured, that is): the eSSage.

eSSageIt might not be the first time someone thought about making a self-massaging suit so that you can, well, give yourself a massage, but it’s one of the concepts that pretty well thought-out. It’s controlled remotely via an Android or iOS app, where you can point your stylus (or finger) on the nodes that you want to work on.

You can also have someone else “do” the massage for you by passing on the app and stylus.

The eSSage is a concept design by André Cofield. What do you think?

Put the Brakes on the Lights With this Bike-Influenced Rem Lamp [Beautiful]

For the bike freak comes the Rem lamp, which takes its inspiration from the handlebar and brake mechanism found on a countless number of the timeless two-wheeled vehicle. Squeeze the brake, and the light turns off. But don’t worry, it’s not all stop stop stop; squeeze again and the light comes right back. I suppose those without bikes might like this too, but good luck explaining why you own one of these and no ‘cycle. [Khool] More »

Concave Lock Will Help You Open the Door in the Dark

The light on our front porch got busted recently, so it took me several minutes to get the door open. Not because the lock was jammed or broken, but because I couldn’t get my key into the slot properly and had to fumble around with a light (that was stupidly attached to my keychain, of all places.) A solution to this problem? The Concave Lock.

Concave Lock

It’s a concept design by Poh Liang-Hock, which basically adds a glowing ring around the keyhole so you can find it easily even in the dark. Its concave shape also helps to ‘funnel’ in the key to the keyhole so you don’t waste any time trying to figure out where it is.

The Concave Lock is also a 2012 IDEA Awards entry. I hope it wins – and I hope it gets produced.

Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse & Keyboard for On-the-go Computing

Microsoft has released details on two new products, the Wedge Touch Mouse and the Wedge Touch Keyboard, which look perfect for when you’re on the go and you get tired of using the touch-based keyboard on your tablet.

The Wedge peripherals use Bluetooth. The keyboard’s cover doubles as a multi-angle stand for your tablet, which is a smart idea. There is a joint at the center which allows you to adjust the angle. The cover also powers the keyboard down automatically, once it’s placed inside. There are some hotkeys along the top to launch some functions. The Wedge Touch Mouse offers four-way touch scrolling using Bluetrack technology, which means it will work on any surface.

While Microsoft doesn’t specifically state which devices the Wedge series will work with, they mention Windows, Mac OS X, and “basic functionality on ARM-based devices,” but I’m guessing that any Bluetooth tablet should work with the keyboard. The mouse will only work with a computer though. The keyboard will sell for $79.95(USD) and the mouse will sell for $69.95. They will be released soon.

Fancy up Your Breakfast with the Louis Vuitton Waffle Maker

I think one of the reasons why designer branded stuff is so sought-after is because of the often ludicrous price tag that they carry. (Note that I said that was only one of the reasons, because others could also appreciate it’s beauty, design, and craftsmanship.) Take, for example, a Louis Vuitton handbag. You can buy one tote for close to a thousand bucks, or go for a functional, unbranded handbag that goes for just a hundred dollars.

If your significant other is clamoring for you to get her some designer goods, I’d say turn to a cheaper and ultimately creative alternative. Like this Louis Vuitton Waffle Maker. (Or maybe just a single waffle.)

It’s just a concept design that Andrew Lewicki thought of, but it would be one of those appliances that would exist because of the novel factor they bring.

You might not be able to afford an LV purse for your girl (or for yourself, if you happen to be a girl), but with one of these, at least you could chew on freshly-branded waffles every morning.
