Stackable Brick Mugs for LEGO Lattes

If you work in an office where people are constantly stealing your coffee mug from the staff kitchen, here’s a fun way to keep all your mugs organized. You can stack numerous coffee mugs in these interlocking LEGO-like cubbies, giving each person their own little place to store their mug.

Each square ceramic mug slides neatly into its cubbyhole, and you can pretty much have as many mug cubbies as you want. Though I’m guessing if you stack them more than three or four rows high without some sort of sticky stuff to hold them against the wall.

Individual stackable mugs go for $19.99(USD) each, while a set of four sells for $74.99 over at ThinkGeek. While that’s not exactly cheap for a set of mugs, they’re definitely some of the cooler ones you’ll find. I guess you could always build a structure from actual LEGO bricks, and buy some of these.

Phantom Frames Kids’ Bike Sports Glowing LED Frame

When I was a kid, if you wanted to spruce up your bike, you just put a baseball card in the spokes. These days kids have all kinds of cool features on their bikes. Take the Phantom Frames kids’ bike. It is made from sturdy polycarbonate, which is cool, but the main feature here is the bike’s cool glowing effect.

This illumination is achieved through an array of LEDs set inside the bike’s translucent frame. It subtly stands out during the day time, and at night it gets all wild and crazy. The “pipeline” technology of the Phantom Frames bike allows the design to have working LEDs inside its frame, powered by AAA batteries.

There are two different versions of the frame: The smoked Ghost Frame and the Ice Frame which is completely clear.

You can help fund the Phantom Bike on Kickstarter now through 1/3/14. And check this out. You can get an entire bike with all the LED lighted frames with a pledge starting at $165. Before you get too excited though, the bike is just available in kids’ size.

Transform This Coffee Table Into a Classy Place To Dine In Seconds

For better or for worse, most of us have phased out meals at the dinner table in favor of dining in front of the TV. Emertest On-the-Spot Blood Type Test Kit Could Save Lives

A blood transfusion might spell the difference between life and death. This is apparent during emergency situations and in the case of accidents where the victims are in danger of bleeding out. But before any transfusions can be done, the patient’s blood type must be verified.

Lab tests can determine this, but the results can take a while. Working with this in mind, designers Efe Erinç Erdoğdu, Rasim Ispirgil, & Mehrafza Mirzazad Barijugh came up with Emertest.

Short for “emergency test,” the conceptual single-use test kit is meant to determine the patient’s blood type at the scene of the accident or while they’re en route to the hospital. It attaches to the patient’s arm much like a leech, and would provide result information in just minutes.

It’s beyond convenient to have a portable test to determine the patient’s blood type, in a similar speed and manner of other ready-to-use tests available today, like pregnancy kits.

As for the technology behind how the Emertest can determine the blood type on its own remains to be seen.

Wouldn't It Be Fun to Live in a Translucent House?

Walls are too restrictive. They put up a barrier between you and the outside world—sometimes that’s a good thing—but they also block natural light. So why not make them just a little bit translucent—you know, to brighten things up a bit?
