Most cities evolved based on centuries of complex economic and cultural forces. But what would it look like if that process were reversed? That’s the concept behind Generating Utopia, a program that turns a user’s location-based data into a sprawling, Rio de Janeiro-style cityscape.
If you absolutely have to put your iPhone in a case of some sort, Hard Graft’s Draw case provides more than just peace of mind. Made from stitched leather lined with a soft felt interior, the case includes a long drawstring cord that does double-duty: It keeps the case securely sealed shut when your iPhone’s inside, but also serves to prop it up in landscape or portrait orientations.
With most of us buying our music in digital formats, album art just isn’t treasured in the way it was in the 1960s and 70s. And now, MoMA has added a classic from that bygone era to its permanent collection: The cover of the Rolling Stones’ Let It Bleed, designed by Robert Brownjohn.
Remember the Ostrich? It’s kind of like a pillow that you can wear over your head so you can take a nap or get some rest, anytime and anywhere you feel like taking a breather. It looks like a cushy helmet with a huge opening in front for your face.
It started out as a concept that quickly went viral because it was just so unusual. Now kids can’t get in on the action and grab some shut-eye whenever they’re tired because the folks behind Ostrich just unveiled the Ostrich Junior.
As the name implies, Ostrich Junior is a smaller-sized version of the Ostrich. It’s intended for kids who are 6 years old and above. It makes sense for them to make one in this size, since kids are napping all the time, regardless where they currently are. At least with the Ostrich Junior, nap time is infinitely more comfortable.
The Ostrich Junior pillow comes in two designs: Berry Snooze and Dreamy Waves. It retails for $75(USD). You can find out more about it on Studio Banana’s website.
Navigating a new campus is all part of the nostalgic movie montage that is freshman year of college. The changing leaves! The quaint Gothic architecture! The… drone tour guide? That’s the concept behind Skycall, a playful prototype that’s designed to help visiting Harvard students find their way around MIT’s notoriously confusing campus—which has been called "one of mankind’s most difficult and disorienting labyrinths."
Compared to digital watches that let us keep tabs on time down to the second, the $125 ‘Till watch takes a more laid back approach. It features a traditional analog watch face, but the hours are obscured by a rotating mask, and the occasional mentions of minutes are partnered with vague references to the time.

Posted in: Today's ChiliWe have Presidents and other historic figures on our coins, but what we really need are superheros. The Royal Canadian Mint understands this and they are releasing a series of seven different Superman coins to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Big Blue Boyscout.
They look pretty awesome. Usually I find Canadian coins to be silly looking, but now I want some. Most of the coins range from $30(USD) – $130(USD), but there’s also a $750 gold one if you are a super fan.
Next we need a Batman paper dollar. That would make me happy. In Batman and Superman we trust. That’s currency I can get behind. Hit the link to see the full collection.

Automakers have a long history of deploying ridiculous architectural feats to sell cars—from Volkswagen’s gleaming parking towers to Lamborghini’s crazy light show at Autostadt. But all that pales in comparison to the installations on display at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
Run your hands over a painting or a sculpture at an art gallery and security will ensure your day spent soaking up culture is immediately over. But artist Robert Cohen has no complaints about people touching his verticalCINEMA sculptures. In fact, that’s the only way the flipbook
