As Deutsche Telekom (the German carrier behind T-Mobile) issues “premium tickets” to kick start the virtual line-up to buy an upcoming smartphone, customers can only imagine one event: the iPhone 5 launch. This is because the German carrier has done exactly the same thing for the iPhone 4S last year, so most people are willing to bet that this is it – these are the tickets to get the next iPhone.
Those using the premium tickets are supposed to get the first deliveries because those are made following the exact tickets numerical order.
Of course, this is a remote concern for United States customers, but wouldn’t it be interesting if US wireless carriers had something like this? That way, we may be able to avoid the server overload and all the things that can happen during such a rush. If you are really curious, check the DT website (in German).
