Diablo 3 patch 1.0.5 arriving on October 16th

Are you still one of those folks who continue to crawl your way through dungeons and quests in Diablo 3, or have you already given up on the game after beating the crap out of feminized version of Diablo (that’s what some folks call it) for the umpteenth time? If you happen to fall under the former group, then you would be pleased to hear that there was a post on the Diablo 3 Forums that mentioned Diablo 3 patch 1.0.5 will be arriving tomorrow, on October 16th to be exact.

It is said that a scheduled maintenance for Diablo 3 will begin at 3:00 a.m. PDT so that patch 1.0.5 can be deployed, and it is anticipated that the amount of time required for maintenance purposes would be approximately 8 hours thereabouts. Do bear in mind that you will not be prompted to download patch 1.0.5 until said patch is live in your home region, but as a seasoned Diablo 3 campaigner, you already know that, don’t you? Are you looking forward to this particular patch?

Diablo 3 PvP features uncovered in datamined game client

One of the features that Blizzard announced for Diablo 3 back then was PvP. Granted Diablo 2 had PvP, but for Diablo 3, Blizzard would be introducing a style of PvP that would be akin to World of Warcraft’s PvP Arena. Well it seems that Diablo 3 gamers have datamined the game’s client following the 1.0.5 patch and in it they have discovered some pretty interesting PvP tidbits. (more…)

Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.5 available on Public Test Realm (PTR)

Diablo 3’s Patch 1.0.5 is now made available on Public Test Realm (PTR) despite being under development, and as expected, we do know that this particular patch will roll out a new system known as Monster Power that will enable you to adjust the level of challenge that monsters offer with each difficulty level. Not only that, the Infernal Machine, which is an event that will pit players in Inferno against souped-up versions of some of Sanctuary’s most nefarious bosses will also be introduced just in case you are looking for a little bit more challenge in the game. Needless to say, Patch 1.0.5 will also be accompanied by some of the more customary bug fixes, UI improvements, and additional class and item balancing.

The PTR is deemed by Blizzard to be an essential and valuable tool for their development teams, as participating gamers who share their feedback via reports will allow the team to fix more bugs to make sure that Patch 1.0.5, when released, will be of the utmost quality. In fact, it is claimed that Patch 1.0.5 will be the maiden outing for Blizzard in performing a public test for Diablo 3, and this might just pave the way for additional public tests for most (if not all) future patches.

Diablo 3 patch 1.0.5 preview

Earlier this month, we read about how patch 1.0.5 for Diablo 3 will help fix the Trail of Cinders, but slightly more than a week later, here we are with a sneak peek as to what patch 1.0.5 will be able to deliver for gamers in Diablo 3 when it arrives. One of the major feature changes include Defensive Skill Changes that is said to alter defensive skills across the board, but that is not all there is to it as it will simultaneously reduce incoming damage as well. The net result? A survivability buff for players, in addition to an increase in build options as folks can take more risks without building up what was once thought to be defensive abilities . After all, isn’t the best defence a fantastic offence?

Diablo 3 PvP patch remains inactive for now

There is a fair number of Diablo 3 gamers who have gotten bored of the game, with someone actually maxing out the recent Paragon Levels, so what’s next to keep folks interested in the title? How about Player vs Player (PVP)? It seems that some Diablo fanatics did pick up a hidden addition within the latest patch that comes in the form of a button which will just light up but does not do anything, although the kicker when said button is active is to lead folks to the Public Test Realm and enjoy some insane PvP bouts. This is where the kids gloves are taken off, and you can for once be proud of the gear you wear as you vanquish your opponent(s), in addition to tweaking your armory to make sure that you have the most well balanced character out there.

Blizzard had this to say concerning PvP, “We’re going full steam ahead on the PvP patch, which will also include a number of game changes unrelated to PvP, and we look forward to sharing more about that as we get closer to opening up a PTR, where you’ll be able to test out our changes — and enjoy mercilessly slaughtering one another.”

Are you looking forward to PvP in Diablo 3 in the future?

Diablo 3 gets new Crowd Control changes

Just a few days ago, we talked about how Diablo 3 patch 1.0.5 (which has yet to be released, mind you) will fix the Trail of Cinders, and this time around, Blizzard’s developer journal has revealed that there are imminent changes coming your way as to how Crowd Control (CC) works in Diablo 3. In order to eke more fun out of Crowd Control skills at higher levels, Blizzard will be making some modifications to these skills. To put it in a nutshell, monsters will feature a “CC resistance” which is assigned on a per-monster basis.

As an example, the CC resistance will naturally kick off at 0%, and for each additional 1 second CC that is applied to the monster, the monster will be on the receiving end of 10% CC resistance. Monsters will lose lose 10% of their CC resistance for each second that they are not CC’d. Elite monster CC resistance has been capped at the current reduction values which are already active for Elites, and in plain English, that would be 35% in Normal, 50% in Nightmare,
65% in Hell and 65% in Inferno. How do you think this will change the way you enjoy your game?

Diablo 3 player Alkaizer maxes out to Paragon level 100 in a fortnight

If you think that the Olympics had its fair share of superhuman feats, perhaps you might want to check out some of the more obscure achievements among humanity in the world of computer games. Case in point, avid Diablo 3 player who goes by the handle “Alkaizer” has maxed out the Paragon system which was introduced a couple of weeks ago, touching level 100 within that short period – while amazing the interested Internet populace at the same time.

This is no mean feat, considering how we are talking about another 100 levels on top of the level 60 cap in the vanilla Diablo 3 title. The two weeks that Alkaizer took is an achievement worth talking about, considering how in theory, most folks would have taken months or even a year of game time to arrive at this pinnacle considering the hundreds of millions of experience points one has to amass. Imagine this, each Paragon level increase requires you to obtain double the experience points required in the previous level, and this geometric increase is not to be sneezed at.

Check out the video above to see how Alkaizer managed this seemingly superhuman feat in just a fortnight. We should see more Paragon Level 100 characters running around after this soon…

Diablo 3 patch 1.0.5 gets Trail of Cinders fix

Diablo 3Right now, Diablo 3 is on patch 1.0.4, but it is said that Diablo 3 patch 1.0.5 will be able to fix what is currently wrong with the Trail of Cinders, where nerfs damage from 1500% over three seconds will be reduced to just 300% over three seconds. I guess when patch 1.0.5 finally rolls out (it has yet to be determined when), the rune will no longer deal five times the additional damage than intended – meaning Blizzard has already caught on to this particular issue.

Blizzard community manager Lylirra explained why there was no immediate fix for the bug, saying, “While this bug was discovered very quickly after 1.0.4 released and is capable of being hotfixed, we didn’t want to move forward with the fix without giving players proper notice. We also know that players are having fun using Trail of Cinders in their builds, so – although this is an important issue we want to address – we’re opting to wait for the next client patch to make any adjustments.”

I guess patience is the only way out, but while waiting, you might as well take full advantage of this bug when you still can.

Diablo 3 Error 3006 pays a visit again

Sometime in the middle of May this year, we talked about how a potentially game breaking bug has been discovered in Diablo 3, only to have the good people over at Blizzard fix it. Well, fast forward to today, and you would know that earlier in the morning of August 24, Diablo 3 once again stared at one of its opening day bugs in the face without any seeming effect in fixing it, at least not until later. Well, Error 3006 is back yet again, which means gamers who want to connect to play the game might not be able to do so if they are affected by this Error.

Not only that, to continue from where Error 3006 left off, it might also have some sort of connection with the Auction House in terms of reliability and what not. One ought to bear in mind that the Auction House problem has yet to go commented on by Blizzard staff back when this story first broke. Many servers might be up and running now, but there are folks who realized that the Diablo 3 Auction House just ain’t working as intended. Keep our fingers crossed that

Well, after installing patch 1.0.4 for Diablo 3, what are some of the applied hotfixes?
