In fact, wireless chargers are already here, but these still require that your gadget is physically connected to a charging pad or similar. However, I mean the type of charging where there is no contact whatsoever, so that you can charge your mobile phone or tablet anywhere you are in by just… being there. It seems (and, in fact, is) amazing, and this technology is closer than you might think.
What Does Your DNA Say About You?
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt is not as simple as that, but close. A new study has introduced the concept of "metamaterial analog computing", where metamaterial blocks that can perform mathematical operations (such as spatial differentiation, integration, or convolution) by propagating light waves into them. This discovery is important as it can provide new computing systems much thinner than the conventional lens-based optical signal and data processors.

Bosco Verticale (Italian for "Vertical Forest") is a project featuring the construction of two residential towers in Milan, Italy. However, they are not common buildings, as they are "covered" in plants. The towers have, respectively, 119 and 87 meters in height, providing a surface area of 10,000 square meters which will host 900 trees and many other shrubs and floral plants.
I have mixed feelings about taking tests to see if I have the beginnings
of Alzheimer’s disease or some other age-related cognitive problem. The
thought scares me to death – like most of you, probably. But
rationally, I know it’s best to learn about it early if you have it.
This particular test, the Self-Administered Gerocognitive Exam (SAGE),
was so readily available I couldn’t not take it, especially if I wanted to share it with you….
Diabetes affects 1 in 19 people, that’s 26 million people in the US, and patients need to be in
constant control of their blood sugar levels, otherwise they risk
damage to their eyes, kidneys or heart. Methods to measure blood glucose are painful (finger pricking and Ditto or Glooko), or invasive (constant glucose monitors, CGMs). Hopefully they will soon be replaced by Google’s Smart Lens.
The
ease of access to medical information has increased our health IQs
greatly from pre-Internet days. But if doctors aren’t exasperated with
their know-it-all patients just yet, a
Silicon Valley startup called Scanadu is about to change the
practice of medicine altogether with smart gadgets that give you the
tools to test and analyze your own vitals and body fluids. And you
don’t need a prescription, or a fortune, to buy them!
Lucid dream masks work by flashing a series of light patterns when you are in REM sleep. The Remee Mask, the Aurora Mask, the REM Dreamer as well as apps like DreamZ, or Lucid Dreaming, claim they can make you aware you are dreaming, and have some control over the events that occur. Can we regain hours of our lives, in our imaginative worlds where anything is possible? Can we fight dragons in our dreams?
