No matter how hard he tries, Han Solo can’t seem to escape being put back into his Carbonite shroud by geeks everywhere. Now, with a little time and patience, you can have Han Solo in Carbonite on all of your kitchen cabinets too.

This fun little project from Our Nerd Home shows you how to create Han Solo in Carbonite drawer pulls using Sculpey clay and one of those silicone Han Solo ice cube trays.

All you need to do is fill the tray with clay, then sculpt some backs to hold onto some nuts, and bake them. A little glue, some Martha Stewart metallic paint, et voilà. Trophies fit for a tiny Hutt.

which specializes in machines that inhale and
exhale, like vacuum cleaners and fans, prides itself on the number of
attempts its engineers make to get to perfect.  On average, it’s around
5000 prototypes to one finished product.  I don’t know how many
prototypes went into each of the flying machines created by the Dyson
engineers for this year’s Challenge Dyson, but they sure came up with some strange-looking ones – all made from Dyson product parts.

As is its custom, iFixit has torn down the new Haswell-based iMacs to gauge their repairability — and the company has found a few surprises despite the iterative design. In addition to new processors, graphics and WiFi, the updated all-in-ones now have unoccupied PCI Express slots in their base configurations. DIY enthusiasts willing to pry open their systems can add PCIe-based SSD if they like, iFixit says. Not every change is good news, however. The 21.5-inch iMac’s processor is now soldered to the motherboard; while earlier models weren’t all that upgradable, the move prevents even determined hobbyists from using their own CPUs.
