Here’s some fun you can have at home with little to no effort: make a mini crossbow from a bottle cap, two popsicle sticks and a rubber band. You can fire off flaming arrows, toothpicks, skewers, Q-tips and more with just your thumb.

Anyone who has spent time on Pinterest.com (a very popular social
sharing site) has seen the same tips showing up over and over and over
again. These tips look really great. But do they
work? Many do but there are a surprisingly large number of very popular
pins that are total duds. Here’s my list of Top 10 Time Wasting Tips on Pinterest – The Pin Tips That Don’t Work:
Limoncello! That sweet, tart, and refreshingItalian after-dinner digestif can be a wonderful thing. But, typically, when you go for the store-bought stuff it’s cloyingly sweet, and doesn’t have any of that fresh zip to it. Here’s the good news: It’s simple to make at home and customize it to your own taste, giving you the perfect balance of sweet, sour boozeroo.
I am quite sure that every single house needs a handyman around, even better when that person happens to live under the same roof as you. After all, calling a plumber to fix a leak could prove expensive in the long run, so why not ensure that someone living in the same house as you has the necessary DIY skills to perform all the little touch ups? Well, here is a Kickstarter project that might pique your interest – never mind the lack of skill, having the right tools are also essential in getting the task done in the first place. The Screw Grabber is a solution to the non-magnetic screw problem, where you need not worry about a dropped screw – ever again.
The Screw Grabber will arrive with a transparent rubber sleeve which will slide onto screwdrivers so that it can hold a range of screw sizes to the end of a screwdriver. The ribbed head interior ensures that screws remain nice and straight, while the interior taper would adjust itself for a wide range of screw head sizes. Since the ribbed shaft interior was specially designed to come into constant contact with the drivers shank, there are 4 points of contact which enable for a wider range of shank diameters, all the while reducing friction whenever one slides the grabber up or down the shank. Right now, the funding goal has yet to be met, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it does!

Jeff Highsmith is an amazing dad. The proof is right here. He built this awesome Mission Control desk for his oldest son. His kid needed his own desk so he could do his homework, so he used MDF (medium-density fiberboard) to construct a basic desk. Then, he designed a control console that is loosely based on NASA examples.
He used Arduino and Raspberry to program the numerous lights, LEDs and switches. It even makes all sorts of cool noises when flipping its switches and pushing its buttons. As you can see from the video below, it isn’t going to be easy, but you can follow along and create something similar if you want a cool desk of your own.
Good luck concentrating on your homework, kid. Don’t worry, it won’t be too much of a distraction. The top of the desk folds down and covers the controls for study time.

Making a good drink isn’t always the easiest endeavor. ReJigger, a Kickstarter project turned real product, aims to simplify the cocktail process for those of us playing the boozy home game. The democratization of the craft cocktail is a great idea, but here’s the thing: You gotta respect the craft.
By now everyone has heard of Flappy Bird, the extremely difficult and insanely popular game. So by now you also know that it is no longer available to download. However, if you want to get into the game, you might not be completely out of luck. Although this version may not be what you are expecting.
Fawn Qiu will help you with your need for Flappy Bird with this mechanical “Flappy Bird in a Box” hack. It’s a more retro way to play the hit game. And it’s just as frustratingly difficult as the original.
Check out the video and you’ll will see what I mean. Mess up and the box closes on you.
If you happen to be in New York on February 24th, you might even get a chance to play the game in person.

I’ve always thought it was creepy to hang the heads of dead animals on your wall. They always look like they are watching you as you move around the room. If you are a big fan of The Empire Strikes Back, you might not mind hanging this animal head on your wall.
What we have here is a DIY Wampa head made out of cardboard boxes, newspaper, tape, glue, faux fur, and a few other household items. It looks a lot like paper mache, but it’s not. It was made by the fine folks at OurNerdHome, and its builders say they spent only about $20 on the project.
While there aren’t step-by-step instructions, the images do give you an idea of what you need to do to make your own. I wonder what kind of fur was used. It looks sort of like the fur on that Wampa rug we talked about a while back.
This is certainly one of the coolest DIY Star Wars projects I have seen.
