TARDIS Chicken Coop Has Jumbo Eggs on the Inside

Now I have to admit that I’ve not watched every episode of Doctor Who ever, but I just don’t seem to recall seeing an episode where the Doctor has a farm and raised chickens. Maybe I just missed that one. If the good Doctor had ever been a farmer, this is what his chicken coop would look like.

This TARDIS chicken coop was built by DaveNinja, and looks just like the Doctor’s time-and-spaceship, except for the part where it’s got chicken wire in the windows, and wood shavings to absorb chicken poop on the floor. Other than that, it’s just like it.

I wonder if the hens inside have traveled around the universe and throughout time while laying their eggs. The renaissance ordered a ham and cheese omelet? Coming right up. Adam and Eve on a raft for Genghis Khan? Sure, no problem!

BBC Worldwide announces first four Bluray DVDs with UltraViolet digital copies

Coming nearly on the anniversary of its US launch, the UltraViolet digital locker system is getting a boost in the UK from BBC Worldwide. The BBC’s commercial wing is releasing four Blu-ray / DVD titles that are UltraViolet-enabled and is partnering with Warner-owned Flixster to allow users to redeem their copies. The digital versions are available via streaming and downloading for viewing on or offline, and the first four titles queued up consist of Doctor Who Series 7 Part One, Rollercoaster, a new Top Gear special and Attenborough: 60 Years in the Wild. UltraViolet was already live in the UK, and recently announced it’s spreading to cover Canada, Ireland and Australia. We’ll see how users like the signup process with its multiple logins, but a quick check of previous Blu-ray releases didn’t show any iTunes or Windows Media digital copies at all so at least they’ll appreciate the option.

Doctor Who Cybernetics Science Set

Animals learn by playing, and so too, do us adults, especially back in the days when we were just wee kids. Don’t you think that you learned a whole lot during your play time? Well, here is one way to figure out whether your little one has a penchant for electronics and science when he or she grows up – with the $39.99 Doctor Who Cybernetics Science Set in tow.

With the Doctor Who Cybernetics Science Set, this DIY Cyberman will require one to connect the circuits in order to perform the relevant upgrades which will range from infrared capability to object awareness and light sensitivity. Fret not if your little one is unable to figure things out for him or herself, Thinkgeek has so kindly thrown in a detailed instruction manual for your perusal. Just make sure your wee lad is aged 14 and above, and just in case you were wondering why I referred to “your little one” above, this is because most parents think that their little ones are just that – they remain little all the time in parents’ eyes, don’t you think so? Best to have a couple of rechargeable AA batteries handy at all times too.

Sci-Fi Car Emblems: Geek Your Ride

Your beat-up ride may not be able to make the Kessel Run, is smaller on the inside and can only go where you’ve already gone before, but you can always use your imagination. Though that could be mentally taxing depending on the state of your car, so you might want to make it easier with these geeky car emblems.

The official-looking emblems are made from silicone and then painted black and chrome to look like a traditional car badge. It already comes with “all-weather, automotive grade” double sided adhesive so your only problem will be deciding where to stick it.

Doctor Who Silence Plush, Cuddliness Will Fall

You may not have any memory of it, but The Silence played a big part in series 6 of Doctor Who. That’s what those tally marks on your arm are all about. This Doctor Who Silence plush is pretty cute, despite having no arms or legs.
silence
This Silence plush is so soft that the only threat he has is that cuddliness will fall and you will hug him close. He’s cute, he’s cuddly, still a bit creepy and he’s no threat at all to you or your other plush toys. This armless and legless Silence was made by crafter Suzannah Ashley.

He stands 15″ tall and will be shown off soon over at Shmancy in Seattle. Great job Suzannah. As for the rest of you, as soon as you look away from this article, you will forget he ever existed. You might want to mark your arm.

TARDIS String Lights: I Know What’s Going on My Christmas Tree This Year

There’s no more iconic symbol of geekdom than Doctor Who’s TARDIS. You could pretty much make anything into a TARDIS, and it’ll not only be cool, but everyone will know exactly what you’re into. So the next time you throw an outdoor party – or just want to decorate your house – pick up a set of these TARDIS string lights, and proudly fly your geek flag.

Each set of TARDIS lights comes with ten tiny TARDISes (TARDi?) strung together on a 9-foot-long cord. And just like most holiday lights, you can plug multiple strings into each other to make a longer one. I wonder if you could shrink yourself and step inside one of the miniature TARDi, if there’d be a set of time and space controls inside.

Doctor Who fans (or blue police box fans) can grab a string of these TARDIS lights over at ThinkGeek for $19.99(USD). Grab ‘em now if you want to be sure to have them decorate your holiday tree this year. One ThinkGeek commenter even suggested a Weeping Angel tree-topper to go with.

Next Time on Doctor Who: Dinosaurs on a Wedding Cake

I’m sorry guys, but that Dinosaurs on a Spaceship episode of Doctor Who… not so great IMHO. But if there is one good thing that came from that episode, it is this awesome mini episode called Dinosaurs on a Wedding Cake.

TARDIS Wedding Cake

They didn’t waste any time getting this cake made so soon after the episode. It looks like the entire thing is edible, even the rocks and sand. It was made by the Butter End Cakery. Obviously that isn’t the Doctor and Amy popping their heads out of the TARDIS. I assume that it’s the bride and groom.

Seriously guys, this cake is much better than the episode it’s based on. It’s twice as intelligent and twice as filling.

Doctor Who TARDIS Table Lamp

I guess when it comes to some franchises, you can just milk it a whole lot more than the rest, without having the franchise go stale at the same time. The Doctor Who series is one of them, although personally, my favorite would be the entire Star Wars universe that looks set to provide George Lucas’ descendants a comfortable life for the next three generations or perhaps, even more. Well, we have more stuff from Doctor Who this time around, with the $49.99 Doctor Who TARDIS Table Lamp making headlines for today.

You can find your way around the home with this gorgeous blue box, and to add to the realism factor for this officially licensed product, this table lamp will even make a TARDIS noise whenever you open her. Definitely a must-have for every would-be companion, don’t you think so? This is a lamp that comes with a double-sided lampshade, sporting the 11th Doctor and Amy Pond on one side, while the TARDIS is on the . Should there be no TARDIS noise effects, that would mean it is time to replenish the exhausted trio of AAA batteries within.

Doctor Who TARDIS String Lights

We have seen our fair share of Doctor Who products in the past, and just a couple of days ago, we spotted the Doctor Who TARDIS Night Light which would definitely come in handy when helping out Time Lords who want to make their way to the bathroom for a leak in the middle of the night, and yet are afraid of monsters lurking in the dark. Well, that’s all and good, and here we are with another iteration of the TARDIS which should be able to ensure your house has an overall Doctor Who festive mood with the $19.99 Doctor Who TARDIS String Lights.

You can now party like a Time Lord with this unique piece of home decorative equipment. Each 9-foot cord will hold 10 lights, where each of these lights come in the form of a small TARDIS. Don’t worry about the lights blowing after a while, you need not travel to the future to obtain some replacements (four, actually) as each purchase already comes with replacement lights just in case the untoward happened. This is an officially licensed Doctor Who collectible just in case you are concerned about the authenticity of such products.

Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver Earrings Will Open Your Ears

The sonic screwdriver is the Doctor’s favorite tool and now you can wear one on each ear. They look pretty cool and stylish. The one drawback is that if you are going to be opening doors with these, you are going to have to put your ear to the lock and pray.

These cute earrings come from Etsy seller Murals4U and they are perfect for the female Doctor Who fan. They are handmade from durable plastic and are light weight.

With sonic screwdrivers dangling from your ears, your ears are bound to be open all of the time, but your neck will hurt if you have to point them at various things the way the Doctor does. These are just $7.99(USD). Hopefully they won’t zap you crazy all day long.
