Doom 4 To Skip Current Gen (Rumor)

Doom 4 To Skip Current Gen (Rumor)id Software is practically an institution by itself, and that is definitely not surprising due to the legion of fans that follow John Carmack. It was confirmed last August by Carmack himself that Doom 4 was in development, although back then, that was all we knew about it, without any additional details shared. Ever since then, however, there was nothing else which was leaked or shared about Doom 4, but it seemed that one thing is for sure – Doom 4 will be headed to next generation gaming consoles and machines, as this was done so that the game itself will be able to live up to the expectations of gamers.

In a recent interview, Bethesda’s vice president of marketing and public relations, Pete Hines, shared, “An earlier version of Doom 4 did not exhibit the quality and excitement that Id and Bethesda intend to deliver and that Doom fans worldwide expect. As a result, Id refocused its efforts on a new version of Doom 4 that promises to meet the very high expectations everyone has for this game and this franchise. When we’re ready to talk about the Doom 4 Id is making, we will let folks know.”

Doom 2 Integrated Into Half-Life 2 Through gmDoom Mod Is Awesome

First-person shooters lately have been trying their absolute best to either make their games as visually appealing as possible by creating extremely realistic graphics or by making them stylized. But there’s something about old-school first-person shooter games that even though they look OK by today’s standards, you can certainly enjoy their unique experience. A new mod will soon be released that brings the feel of an old-school FPS to modern-day games.

The results of which is a mashup that any old-school first-person shooter could certainly appreciate. Oculus Rift won’t come bundled with Doom 3, credit or refund offered instead

This news is likely to be a bit disappointing to some Oculus Rift backers. Project supporters were set to be rewarded with a copy of Doom 3: BFG Edition, which was to arrive bundled with each development kit. Unfortunately, it turns out that the device won’t support the game at launch, so the team is offering some alternative compensation instead. You can opt for a $20 Steam Wallet credit, $25 Oculus Store credit or a full refund of your original pledge, if you so desire. Log in to make your pick by April 5th — if you miss that deadline, you’ll automatically receive the $25 credit to the Oculus Store. Kickstarter backers can hit up the source link to make their pick.

Doom 320 x 240 Screenshot Remastered To 9,600 x 7,211 Photoshop Art

One of the most influential first-person shooters ever has to be id Software’s Doom. Since it’s release back on December 10, 1993, we’ve seen three official sequels with Doom 4 planned to be released on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 some time in the future.

Over the years, Doom has received some nice improved visuals, but the original game’s classic graphics and art style have been left somewhat untouched each time the game is “improved” to be played on modern-day consoles. Deviant Art member Elemental79 decided one of the more classic screenshots from Doom needed to be improved from its original resolution of 320 x 240 pixels to a jaw-dropping 9,600 x 7,211 pixel image.
