Let These Dragons Hold Your Dice for You

Dragons are awesome. And there are no better creatures to protect your dice between use. Dragons instinctively guard dice as if they were 20-sided eggs. It’s just the way they are. DeviantArtist DragonsAndBeasties knows this and so has created the cutest way to keep your dice organized.

51-Foot-Long Dragon Is the World’s Largest Walking Robot

The world’s largest walking robot is crazy. It’s a 51-foot-long fire-breathing dragon named Tradinno. Surprisingly, this is not a Japanese creation, but a German one. It was made for a play called Der Drachenstich by industrial robotics company Zollner Elektronik AG.
dragon robot
This beast weighs in at 11 tons, and despite that massive weight it can still move and flap its 40-foot-wide wings. The size is impressive of course, but also impressive is the detail. The movement is a bit unrealistic, but who cares? This thing is badass! It breaths fire and squirts buckets of stage blood! And while it can walk short distances on its own, they need to move it on the back of a trailer for anything longer than a jaunt around the stage.

Check it out in action right here in the video. It looks like it was quite an undertaking to create this epic monster.

And if there’s any doubt that it’s the world’s largest walking robot, check the Guinness World Records.

Dragon Hoodies Look Like No Hoodie (and No Dragon) You’ve Ever Seen

It’s a hoodie. It’s a dragon. It even has a tail, which is detachable via velcro. Anyone who sees you will know that you are a lover of dragons. I can’t decide if it’s cute or not. It is definitely different.

These dragon hoodies will cost you $400 (USD). They come in black or white, presumably to represent good and evil dragons. The light side and dark side as it were. Though the white one is covered with a rainbow of colorful scales.

Do you have the guts to wear one of these every day? Sure, you’ll stand out, but that’s what dragons do right?

This Ball Joint Dragon Is Highly Adorable (and Highly Flexible)

Rarely do you see dragons this adorable. This little guy looks like he just hatched out of an egg and got a part on Game of Thrones. Yeah, he has an agent already. That’s how cool he is.

ball joint dragon

This awesome hand-crafted dragon is made from ball joints. That’s what gives his armor such a neat look. It is always what allows him to curl up into a little ball come sleepy time.

You know you want one. So do I. Well, if you do, you can check out the creator’s site here for 7000 to 10000 rubles (~$200 to $300 USD). Of course, you’ll have to speak Russian if you want one. It looks like he has several color versions. The black one is the cutest. Who knew that ball joints would make such a neat dragon?

Game of Thrones Season 3 Limited-Edition Box Set: We Found One of Daenerys’ Dragons

These days there are so many editions of products – limited, special, special limited, etc. Even retailers have their own special editions. We couldn’t possibly collect them all. Well, we could, but it would be a full time job and we’d go broke. Amazon likes to release special editions too, and has just posted an image and page for their special edition Game of Thrones season 3 box set.

First Red Dragon 6K footage shown, boasts three more stops DR (video)

First Red Dragon footage shown from 6K source, boasts three more stops DR video

After a considerable delay from its slated late 2012 release date, the 6K Red Dragon sensor is finally ready — and it seems to have been worth the wait. The first test footage (after the break) has come from cinematographer and Red booster Mark Toia, who stress-tested it in difficult conditions like high contrast daylight and dark night scenes. Afterwards, he said the camera has three more f-stops of dynamic range than the MX-equipped Epic and thinks the new sensor brings the “best highlight falloff I’ve ever seen from any digital camera,” including Sony’s $65,000 CineAlta F65 4K model. Though Red put on a show of upgrading Epic and Epic-X cameras with Dragon earlier this spring, the company recently said that deliveries would start in September. Meanwhile, Dragon equipped cameras are in the hands of other notable DPs and directors too, like Peter Jackson, Michael Bay and Darius Woski — meaning you can likely expect a deluge of Dragon eye-candy over the coming weeks.

40 Foot Dragon Skull Shows up on a Beach

This is what it would look like if dragons actually existed and we uncovered their bones. This 40 foot dragon skull is amazing and scary. I would hate to run into this thing on the beach. As if by magic, this massive dragon skull appeared on Charmouth Beach in Dorset, England.

It’s part of a promotion for HBO’s Game of Thrones, since Blinkbox now has Season Three of the series available for streaming. This was a great way to announce it as well as scare beachgoers.

It took a team of three people two months to sculpt this thing. How they got it into place is a mystery. Hopefully they leave it there for brave kids to play with it in perpetuity.

How to Train Your Dragon… To Be a Lamp That Breathes Fire

If you have watched How to Train You Dragon – and who hasn’t? – then you already know that the Night Fury dragon is pretty cool. Well, he just got cooler. How about the Night Fury dragon in your room as a lamp that breathes fire?
night fury
I thought that would get your attention. Crafter Undead-geologist created this desktop lamp. It looks neat, yes, but the best part is that it actually breathes fire from it’s mouth instead of using a lightbulb. Though its fuel source is ethyl alcohol, not dragon’s breath.

Don’t drain your dragon though. When you are done using the lamp, just cap the flame with a mini viking helmet. Perfect.

Toothless Cosplay: How to Wear Your Dragon

The last cosplay I featured was very faithful to its source material. It was also legitimately creepy. This Toothless quad suit on the other hand may not be the most polished costume out there, but it is one of the most adorable ones I’ve ever seen.

toothless quad suit costume by jessica angus monoyasha

Based on the protagonist’s best buddy in the animated movie How to Train Your Dragon, the suit was made in 2011 by Jessica Angus aka Monoyasha. She says it’s quite comfortable and can easily be removed for transport or storage. In case you’re wondering, the wearer sees through an opening on the costume’s neck.

You can find out a bit more about Jessica’s costume on her deviantART page, where she also posted a few in progress shots.

Guy Turns Trees into Dragons: Edward Chainsawhands

It’s a sad fact that when nature and man collide, nature usually loses. Many of us hate to cut down trees, but sometimes you have no choice. Maybe it is mandated by local authorities or maybe it needs to go because it is in danger of falling. Isn’t it much better to carve a dragon out of that fallen tree, instead of just turning it into firewood? Hell yes!

dragon tree

Redditor Aboiement’s neighbor paid an unnamed artist to sculpt this amazing dragon from the trunk of this deceased tree. It looks awesome and now his front yard is basically a fantasy realm. I bet hobbits and orcs come to fight it in the wee hours when no one is looking. I guess the guy carved this with his magical powers and then just walked off into the sunset, not seeking glory or anything.

One imgur commenter said it best…

“The dragon was always there, he just removed the tree bits.”
